When Eliza saw the thing disappear she figured that whoever that jack ass of a guy was had succeeded in his scheme. It was a moment before he showed himself in the hallway again and she was pretty angry to say the least. Not waiting for him to say anything to her she walked over to him and stopped with hands on hips. Next time you want to use me as bait, fill me in on it first! Funny thing is that if you just would have told me your plan I would have happly played the part of 'bait' her voice was edged with frustration and anger. She was completely able to handle things on her own most of the time and wasn't afraid of much so being asked to play the part of the bait wouldn't have really bothered her. What bothered her was that he had just gone along with it without telling her.
Anyway, I am guessing you succeeded in whatever it was you needed to do? And don't worry I don't plan on asking a bunch of question like why you attracted such a weirdo to begin with because you probably wouldn't tell me, but you should know it might be a good idea for your to lock yourself in a padded room or something she replied with a casual shrug. She was joking of course, trying to lighten the mood of what seemed to be a fairly tense situation. This guy truly was strange, even more strange than some of the other people Eliza had met and she had met some odd people in Miami so far. [/center][/blockquote] |

He gave a half smile and said " If I told you that you were bait, it wouldn't have came out right, it'd have seem to staged and the thing might have smelled a rat. In order to get him to favor the free lunch over protecting his body, the betrayal needed to seem real. Thus you had to have real suprise and anger. If it makes you feel better i tried to pull my punch as best i could." he said shurgging before nodding toward the door " C'mon choas is ending so the staff will be back in a few minutes and they might wonder why your here, this is a locked ward."
As he walked towards the door he continued
"...and it's probably good you don't ask questions, becuase I don't plan on answering too many myself...and sadly a padded room won't help matters."
As they got to the door he held it open for her and said " So you plan on throwing around a name with the sarcasm or am i just going to call you Xena, becuase of your suicidal tendancies to attack supernatural menace?"

Eliza listened to what he had to say to explain his actions and had to sigh when what he said actually made some sense. Ok fine, I will go along with it for now but that doesn't mean I'm not still irked about it. Don't come asking me to tag along if anything else ever happens cause I don't wanna get sucker punched in the gut again she replied with a slight roll of her eyes and started to follow him towards the door. She knew he hadn't asked her to tag along this time but now that he knew she could handle herself things might change, who knew.
Oh and as for you trying to pull back your punch, I'll tell my stomach that you didn't mean to hit it that hard she said in a still sarcastic tone lifting her shirt a little to view the red mark that was on the center on her abdomen. Well at least now I will have a bruise on my stomach to match the ones on my arm she laughed. She was gonna have to make up some crazy story if people asked her what had happened when she went back to school. She had better start thinking of it now.
Hey, you didn't offer a name either. But my name is Elizabeth, Eliza for short. And it was not a suicidal tendancy, I knew what I was doing. I can almost always handle myself...almost she replied walking out the door while thinking of the current broken wrist that she was sporting. She had even had help when that had happened, of course six demons against one normal girl and an ensouled vampire, not good odds. " Uh huh, whatever helps you sleep at night Bruisey." he said witha brief chuckle. "Eh well you seem like you can at very least walk away from a scrap without coming in a body bag, which is sometimes all that is needed."
He said " You can call me Jack, simple enough right? My parents weren't very original I'm afraid." he said smoothly with a smirk. Jack U. Quint then name he had just made up for himself was an anagram of Quick jaunt, which was what this had been, and thanks to the quick ushering out of the girl, she didnt know of the green gem that was safely tucked in his scrubs.
Oh hey speaking of which....
He relaized that by now the guy who's scrubs he had stolen had woken up and was wondering why he was locked in a medical suppply closet. Maybe it was time to get his clothes, which were at the bottom of the stairwell that he had been kicked into and make a hasty retreat before there were some questions he truly couldn't answer.
He then gave a casual chuckle and said " Well it's been fun, Eliza, but my work is done here, so i'd better be going. Catch ya around some time." he said witha more friendly overtone than he meant and made his way toward the stairs praying that the wierd supernatural hutning girl would take the elevator.
