Holding his phone nervously, he weighed up the options of the situation. One, he could put down the phone and moap around the house all afternoon, wishing he had called her and just had the strength to ask Aryanna out. Or, he could dial the number on the piece of paper she had given to him, and give it a shot. What could he lose? If she wasn't interested in him, he would just continue being the person nobody cared about, but if she was interested, then the risk was well worth it. It wasn't as if he was asking out a cheerleader like Paige or anything. Aryanna appeared to have similar interests to him, and therefore there might be some common interest there.
Dating for Zane was like foreign territory. He hadn't really done it before, unless preschool is counted. Hey, it was always fun having imaginary tea parties. But he wasn't in pre-school anymore, and he did feel lonely, which was something he felt someone could help him overcome. Also, he was looking for someone to interact with about common interests. Aryanna seemed to also fit that build. She was also beautiful, and just appeared to be generally kind-natured. He was looking for someone like that, and really figured that the two of them would make a good combination.
Inhaling deeply as he held the phone, he glanced at the tiny piece of paper with her neat writing present on, before dialing in the digits. With all of the digits in, he sighed, waiting nervously as he began to hear the dial tone. It was a really nervewreking situation to be in, and the dialing tone just wasn't helping matters. When the tone stopped, and a slight noise occured before the phone picked up, he began shaking, before deciding to initiate the conversation. "Hey Aryanna, its just me...Zane. Hope I didn't get you at a bad time, but I was wondering if you'd like to grab a coffee today?" He awaited a response, so nervous about the thought of rejection. Why was he afraid? It wasn't like it was a rarity for him.

Of course she had given her number to him but hadn't gotten his number. Talk about a lame move. Now she had to wait and see if he was gonna call and if he didn't what would that mean. Was he not interested? Had he lost her number? Was her busy? There were too many what-ifs and it was tiring to consider them all. It wasn't like she had been doing anything at all the entire day. She had gotten up at seven like normal and went jogging before doing some laps in the pool then she had gone back to her room and nestled into a good book with a warm cup of cider. Wow talk about a boring life. Her father was at work, mother was at the gym, older sister was out doing god knows what, he younger brother was playing video games and her younger twin sisters were watching a movie. It wasn't like she wanted to do any of those things so she had decided to spend her time alone.
That is until her cell phone rang, the number was one she didn't recognize which made her heart jump with the thought that it might be him. She answered with a light and casual Hello? and then she heard his voice on the other line. He sounded nervous, good so she wasn't the only one. Oh hey Zane, coffee sounds great, well rather hot chocolate does she laughed. She wasn't much of a coffee drinker but did love hot chocolate, tea and cider. What time? she asked as he jumped out of bed and hurried to her closet. At the current moment she was wearing a pair of grey sweats and an old t-shirt, not appropriate date attire.
While waiting for his responses she quickly picked out an outfit. The weather wasn't too bad outside, sunny and a little on the warm side so she grabbed a forest green summer dress and a pair of black sandals along with a sheer black half jacket. She didn't want to seem too revealing. She layed the clothes on her bed and contemplated what to do with her hair. [/blockquote]

He felt a wave of relief come over him when she accepted his invitation for a date. Date? Was it considered a date to be going out with someone for a coffee? Was there supposed to be all these fancy dinners happening? And what was expected of him? Did he have to open doors, pull out her chair, shake her hand or kiss her cheek?! This was a first for him and he was utterly confused about what to do. Hopefully she wasn't too experienced either, and the pressure would die down. At least that was what he was hoping. He didn't even want to work himself up on what to wear? He didn't have any suits or nice looking clothes in his wardrobe, and he didn't have the time nor the money to go out and purchase anything. Jeans and a nice T-shirt would have to do. He had hoped she hadn't gotten too dressed up. It was only coffee after all, wasn't it?
"Ooh...Hot chocolate! How could I ignore my liking for the chocolate goodness? Especially with marshmellows!" He giggled softly, before thinking of a time. Why didn't he plan the time? He had worked out in his head a hundred times of how to approach the conversation, but didn't focus on the light details. "Uh...How about in an hour, or so? We can meet at 'Caffeine Buzz?' I mean, it is the only coffee shop in Miami after all." He chuckled softly, realizing his moment of stupidity, but felt the need to clarify the location. I guess I'll see you there." He smiled to himself, before hanging up the phone. Phew, that went well. Wasn't as hard as he hade made out. He was going on a date! This was such an enticing feeling. He just felt like running and telling his parents, but they wouldn't care. Realizing that fact, he sighed, though the smile quickly resurfaced on his face. I'm going on a date...I'm going on a date, he sung to himself briefly, his eyes filled with happiness.
Looking in his closet, he quickly withdrew the clothes he had planned in his mind when speaking with Arya. He then went into the bathroom, and styled his hair the way it usually was, though a bit more focus and emphasis was placed on looking nice tonight. He smiled to himself in the mirror. He didn't look that ugly, he actually thought he looked decent. Yet he still wasn't popular.
"I'm going out for a bit." He stated to his parents in the other room, getting an 'okay' back. They probably thought it was out of character for him not to be locked away in his room studying, but this still didn't appear to phaze them. A little excitement would've been great. Luckily the coffee shop wasn't to far from where he resided, so he could easily catch the bus to the location. He did enjoy buses, until weird people boarded them. Arriving at Caffiene Buzz, he walked inside and sat at one of the tables, nervously awaiting Arya's arrival.

She grew even more excited as he told her the time and place. Sounds great to me, and hey don't worry it is probably better that you clarified the location so I can actually figure out how to get there. New in town remember she laughed knowing he felt like an idiot for telling her the name of the place despite there only being one shop in town. But in all fairness she didn't even know that there was only one until he had just meantioned it to her. She had only been in Miami for a couple weeks and hadn't gotten out much during that time, so the town was still really new to her. She was pretty sure she could get to the shop though as she remembered seeing it during one of her very few ventures into town. See you there she replied with a smile in her voice and hung up the phone after he did.
An hour was just enough time for her to take a really fast shower and twist her hair into one single french braid down the middle of her head. After that she put on a little bit of mascara but nothing else and threw on her outfit. It wasn't fancy, it was just flattering in her opinion. She had a nice body but she rarely showed it off for people. For instance the first day she had met Zane she had been wearing loose jeans and a frumpy jacket. Now was the time to show him what she could really look like outside of school. Once she felt she was ready to go she grabbed a small purse and headed for the front door. Before leaving she hollered to her siblings I am going out for a while, be good and listen to Maria. Maria was their house nanny, yes they had a nanny, yes they were rich but she didn't like to boast.
After grabbing her keys off of the table near the front door she checked her appearance in the mirror one more time and headed for her car. It was funny because she never drove her car to school and never acted rich because it just wasn't in her character, but in all truthfulness she loved her car. After climbing into the 2010 gunsmoke grey camero ss she started it up and headed towards the coffee shop. It was easy to find a parking spot right out front and after parking and locking the car she headed into the building and spotted Zane right away. She walked over with a smile and sat down in the chair across from him I'm glad you called she said with a smile. [/blockquote]

Zane looked around the coffee shop, before being approached by one of the baristers. "Can I get you a coffee or something, young man?" Zane looked up and delivered a friendly smile towards the lady. "Oh, no, I'm all good. I'm just waiting on someone." The lady smiled before walking off. Truthfully, he thought it wouldn't look too good if he was already enjoying a coffee when Aryanna walked in. And also, if he had too much coffee, he would get the runs. And he wasn't sure whether he should just drink slowly or order more to avoid having to leave his conversation and date with Arya short.
Seeing her walk in, his eyes lit up and a friendly smile erupted onto his face. He was however too busy observing how gorgeous she looked. Not just her face, but her hair, body and her clothes. Everything was beautiful and stunning about her. He was almost speechless as she came and sat down. "I am really glad I did too...I mean, look at you. You look gorgeous." He smiled once again, being chuckling softly. He wasn't sure if he was being too foward, not foward enough, or what. But he knew girls enjoyed being complimented on their appearence. And it wasn't like it was a lie. Hell, it probably was because gorgeous wasn't a good enough word to describe her.
Before he could further compliment her or begin with a simple conversation topic, the woman had approached them again and asked for their order. "Could we get two hot chocolates." He turned to Arya. "Do you like marshmellows in yours, or is that just one of my weird tastes?" He smirked softly, awaiting a response. Marshmellows for some reason, just made it all that more enjoyable. He liked those added extras to sweeten up the drink. And what wasn't to like about marshmellows!

When he stared at her as she walked in she knew she had done a good job at looking good. His compliment a few moments later proved this thought and she smiled lightly at him Thank you, you look good yourself she replied glancing over his appearance. In all truth he probably always looked good but hey it was only nice to compliment someone back when they complimented you. Zane was one of those people that didn't even have to try to look good it just happened naturally for him. He would probably be cute in a pair of sweat even, it really wasn't fair. It was a surprise to her that the popular people hadn't snatched him up yet, maybe they had tried and he had resisted. Who knows.
When the lady came over to take their order Arya listened as Zane ordered for them both. It was nice to know he had been actually listening to what she had said on the phone about the hot chocolate. Marshmallows are fine. I only like them in hot chocolate though and smores. For some reason I can't handle them on their own, too much puffy and sticky for my liking she laughed softly. She had odd taste in a lot of things and was a fairly picky eater but she was willing to try anything once. Marshmallows in hot chocolate were something she had done before of course, she didn't really mind it either way. Hot chocolate was good with or without the marshmallows but she decided it would be good with them today.
After the lady took their order and left Arya looked back at Zane. So what were you up to on this fine afternoon? she asked as a conversation starter. She wondered if he had any siblings or how his family life was but those were all questions that could be brought up later. She hoped to have a very productive conversation today and learn a lot more about him in the process. [/blockquote]

He blushed when Arya complimented him on his appearence. That was something he didn't get much. He did have some girls interested in the past, but as soon as he began asking for a 'study session' they fell out of interest. It seemed like Arya wasn't that type of girl, which was a very good thing. They had so much in common, and just seemed to compliment eachother in so many ways. He really was excited about their coffee "date" and hoped it could lead somewhere. Hey, even the unpopular students got lonely and had needs.
With a smile, he put his attention to the lady serving them. "Make it two hot chocolates with marshmellows then." The lady nodded, once again with a friendly smile, before walking off. She probably thought the two of them were cute. He thought they were cute together, even if it was just a coffee date. "Its good to know that I'm not the only one with a sweet tooth," he added with a smirk. He loved sweets; smores, marshmellows, lollies, anything. He was more than pleased that this was another thing the two had in common with eachother.
His attention was now fully back to Arya, as he returned her gaze, with a sweet smile. He was still nervous, but at the same time, he felt really comfortable talking with Aryanna. It was something that was new to him, and he liked it. "I was just going over some of my human anatomy notes...Pretty interesting stuff, if you're into seeing...Well, the hundreds of different bones in the human body." He laughed softly, not even sure if this was an appropriate conversation to be having. If it was with someone like Paige (thankfully it wasn't), she would've already been out of the door by this stage. "What about you? Gotta be more interesting than what I get up to..." He chuckled softly, trying to make the conversation more appealing and fun. He could be fun...He had loads of fun things to talk about which didn't involve books or studying! They spoke about marshmellows, that was a fun topic!
It wasn't long before the lady returned with the two hot chocolates, with marshmellows appearing on the top. It looked so nice, he just wanted to act like a typical boy and lunge into it, which would lead to him having chocolate all over his mouth. Now he didn't know Aryanna too well...But he was pretty certain that wouldn't have been an attractive look to her. Maybe funny, but not attractive. "Thanks," he replied softly to the lady with a smile, before grabbing the long spoon and twirling it around in the glass, mixing the chocolate around with two sugars. He was a sweet tooth, what could he say? He looked back up at Aryanna, once again with a cute smile pressed on his lips. "These hot chocolates look so cool...I really need to come back here sometime. Oh, but we better try them first. Although it looks like a nice big sugar infested chocolate tastefest, it could be the opposite." He laughed softly, with the first part suggesting they return here for another meeting.

Well I am more of a fruit person to be honest, but I don't mind the occasional sweets. I was raised near an orchard so fresh fruit became a favorite of mine at a young age. The man that owned the place was a family friend and used to let me and my siblings play in the fields. It was a lot of fun she replied with a smile. Sweet things were good in moderation but she got tired of them really quickly and it was rare to see her eating candy, along with that hot chocolate was about the only chocolatey thing that she liked at all. Chocolate just wasn't a favorite of hers.
She laughed a little when he said that he had been going over some notes before calling her and then assumed that she had been doing something better. Well today I got up, went jogging, went for a swim and then sat in my room alone reading a book. So really not anymore interesting than your morning she replied with a laugh. I really don't have a life she added with a smile. The way she had spent her morning today was a usual day for her, sometimes she went for a walk along the trails in the woods near her house and sometimes she spent her day drawing outside but it just depended on her mood. Still her days were most often spent alone, occassionally she would hang out with her younger siblings but not often.
So do you have any siblings? she asked as she took a sip of her hot chocolate that had just arrived in front of her. She was curious if he was an only child or not, she often wondered what it would be like to be an only child. I have an older brother, older sister, younger brother and two younger sisters, so in all there are six kids in my family. Only five are here though, my eldest brother stayed in England when my dad moved the family here she sighed. It had always been a full house, and being the middle child she was also the most ignored child. The youngest ones always got doted on because they were the last to be born therefore the closest to babies and the eldest was always the perfect one because well they just were. So that left Arya in the middle, nothing special. Her parents just never did understand her and probably never did, she wondered if Zane was close with his parents at all.
I do enjoy hanging out with you so far, I would say our second meeting is going well and has the opportunity of progressing to a third she replied with a joking smile. Of course she wanted to hang out with him again after this, he was the only person she had met so far that she could sort of relate to and the only one that sort of understood her. "I like fruit too...I prefer taking a variety of fruit to school than testing the cafeteria food... He paused with a smirk. "Bad experience. Lets just say that 'green potato' would sound more appealing than what I got instead." Ever since, he had never even laid eyes on the food they sell there. Even the bananas looked dodgy. It wasn't that bad taking his own food anyway, it was healthy and rather tasty. Also the fact that the cafeteria women looked like they wanted to jump over the bench and attack you. "An orchard?" He replied, with curiosity. "I've always wanted one of those...Or a farm, or something. Nothing better than fresh fruit. Plus the whole 'perfect serenity' is rather appealing to me. Did I also mention that orchards are very nifty in that you can just go picking fruit and not having to buy it? I really need to get myself one of those..."
Even the things Arya described in doing today were more interesting than what he was doing. "You don't have a life? If that is true, I must be like lifeless...No, I must be below life. I'm not even worthy of not having a life. I'm beginning to confuse myself." He smiled softly, though in many ways what he said made sense. All he did was read and study, and occasionally work on cars. "To make my life seem a little more exciting, I do like to pull apart things, such as cars and stuff. Its a change from sitting around reading books all day," he laughed softly. Many didn't know that he was into that kind of stuff. They just gathered he would read constantly, but that wasn't his whole life; it was only part of it. Even Zane got bored doing the same thing constantly, so this helped keep him balanced. It was also good at keeping him fit, too.
He had always wondered what it would be like to have a brother, or a sister. Likely an older sibling to look up to, as he couldn't see himself enjoying the company of a younger one. He also wondered if he'd be different if he had any. Maybe he'd be more outgoing, or maybe they'd be the smart nerdy one and he'd be the dump, sporty and cool one. He didn't even know if he wanted that life. It did seem like Ayra had her hands full with the amount of siblings she had. "Wow, must be hard to keep up with everything," he chuckled softly. "I've got none, just good ol' me. I think my parents just thought one was enough...Either that or they just lost interest in eachother." Eww, why did he even think of something like that? Sometimes he could be rather awkward.
He smiled softly about her suggestion. Ooh a third meeting? Go Zane! He mustn't have made himself look like an entire tool if she was up to another date, which was always a good thing. It felt good to know someone who liked him for who he was, and not who he would have to pretend to be. It was refreshing, to say the very least. "I enjoy hanging out with you too. Its good to be around someone who you feel comfortable and can just be yourself around. Or not someone who throws balls at your head." He smiled at the last part, thinking of his many experiences in that territory.

It entertained Arya that Zane found the things she said so interesting. It was true that back in her old home she had had a life but that wasn't so much the case now. Back in England there had been a lot more for her to do at least that is what she felt. Here in America there just wasn't as much to do in nature, especially in Miami. There was nothing but streets and cars and gangs around here. No wide open fields or orchards or rivers. It was kind of depressing actually. Yeah I miss England, the scenery was so much better than it is here. And as cheesy as it sounds the air was a lot cleaner and better too she laughed. It reminded her of those doctors that tell their patients to move to the countryside for some better air, she always thought it was just a saying until she had moved here and realized how different the air really is.
Well I don't have a life here really. In England there were things that I would go out and do but I still didn't have many friends or anything like that. I tended to keep to myself or with my siblings but we would go do stuff. Now that we are hear all they ever do is watch tv, shop or go out. It is irritating really she sighed. It was said that the city changed people and she was witnessing first hand how that happens. It wasn't that she had been a farm girl but she had been a country girl and still was at heart. The city just wasn't her fortay.
That is really cool that you understand mechanics, I certainly don't she laughed. I don't think anyone in my family is good at that type of stuff come to think of it she replied with a thoughtful look. Her brother was a chef, her sister was a beautician, her mother did work and her father was some big business man, he never really would tell her what he did specifically as if it was some big secret or something. Her parents were just crazy though so it didn't really matter to her what they did.
My parents for some reason decided to have six kids. Not really sure why considering my mom is never home. I am the one raising my siblings or rather a nanny is when I am not around. My dad is never around cause he is always working. I really have no idea why they had so many kids she replied with a shrug. It didn't bother her that she had so many siblings, she had been raised with it her whole life and was used to it by now. It would seem weird to her if she didn't have any siblings, she couldn't even imagine being an only child. It probably wouldn't change much though if she were, her parents ignored her now and probably would if she were an only child.
It is always good to hang out with people that get you. I am not a huge fan of pretending to be someone else, actually I am not a fan at all. If people don't like me for who I am then they can find someone better she replied with a laugh. She really didn't care what people thought of her and wasn't out to try and impress people. "England seems like a great place to go," he added. "I've been interested in trying their bangers and mash. They do have it here, but there is less emphasis on the bangers, and more emphasis on the mash..." He shook his head with a slight smile, still glancing at Aryanna. "Sometimes I wish we had space suits in this town...I feel like I'm killing myself more from breathing in Miami air, than I am actually getting into a situation where I might get killed. Funny how that works.." What could he do about it? It wasn't like he could just get up and leave Miami. For starters, he didn't have the funds to support such an expedition, which would lead him right back to where he started. Especially since he required a good education. Why couldn't he just get up and move to England! Arya and him could both do it! Wait, they weren't that close yet...
"I'm not a real televisony type person. I've always preferred the good old, dusty books. Though the special effects on television are sometimes too much for those old books," he added with a cheesy smirk. "I'm just a bit of a nerd." However when he mentioned that he was into mechanics, she was probably rather surprised. It even seemed to impress her that he was good at it. This made him feel more competent, as he wasn't just the typical 'I read books and act nerdy!' type person. "Its good to not just be boring Zane at times. Its good to have something else outside of the books." It did prove as a nice distraction and fresh break, which in many ways helped him to put more effort into his actual reading and assignments as he wasn't sick of them from doing them so much at one time.
As he began speaking about her family, it brought him back to the feeling that he had always wanted a sibling. Someone to keep in company in those lonely times. Even someone to annoy him and call him names when he studied too much. But hey, wasn't that what Preston was for? Minus the name-calling part, of course. "Being an only child really sucks at times. Sure, you get all the attention, but sometimes I don't want to be all attentiony Zane. I wanna be in the background." He was so used to being in the background, or even behind the background at school, so why didn't this carry on over at home? His parents didn't show much interest in his endeavors, however he was still the main focus. There wasn't anyone else stealing his thunder. Hell, did he even have thunder?
"Yeah! I feel the same," he replied to her comment about not caring what people think about you. "But I'm just not too good at enforcing that...Aww, I care too much. Sometimes I hate it so much because I just can't help being overly nice to people. Why can't I just be all agro once in a while?" He took one last sip of his hot chocolate, before noticing how time had flew and how quickly the glass had became empty. Sure, it was a tasty beverage, but he wasn't a pig or anything. It just symbolized how long they had been talking. He glanced out the window, noticing it was beginning to darken. He sighed softly as he looked back at Aryanna. "Can't believe how time flew today. I really had a good time...I don't usually go out much unless my friend drags me out somewhere, usually Miami Fever. Drag being the key term." He chuckled softly. "I'd really like to do something like this again, soon." He displayed a friendly smile. He really was liking Arya. She was an amazing person, and he just wanted to spend constant time with her. Oh oh, he had the love bug.

If things went the way she wanted then someday she would be moving back to England. She really didn't like it much in America, and couldn't really see much of a reason to stay. It wasn't like it had been her choice to move here anyway, and for some reason the rest of her family hadn't seen a problem with it at all like she had. Tell you what, someday I will take you to England and be your tour guide she replied with a playful smile. It wasn't that she expected them to stay together forever or anything, high school relationships rarely lasted but that didn't mean that they wouldn't or couldn't stay friends and go touring England as just that.
I enjoy movies generally, but I am not must for just sitting and watching television shows unless there is something cool on that I know about previously. I don't just go sit on the couch and flip through the channels mindlessly hoping to find something to watch she replied with a laugh. It was something that her younger brother did all of the time. He would literally sit in front of the tv and just flip the channels, it wasn't even like he was watching anything because there was nothing good on. But instead of doing something more productive he would just sit there like he was hoping that if he flipped through them enough times something good would show up. It was like when people were looking for food and would open the fridge but find nothing and then five minutes later check the fridge again like they were expecting something to just show up magically.
It is definitely good to have layers. I am an avid swimmer and outdoorsy girl. I like to draw too, but other than that I don't exactly have any marketable skills she replied with a shrug. She wasn't that great at things that required physical skills and hoped that she could get a job that relied on her brains more since she was extremely smart and a fast learner. She just wasn't that coordinated, or so it seemed at least. I guess one thing I am good at is I can play a pretty sweet violin, been playing since I was four. I enjoy it and the music tends to be relaxing. I have been learning how to play other stuff other than jazz and classical though. Like covers of other songs and such she replied with a smile. She enjoyed music and instruments but didn't consider herself to be great at it or anything, it was just something that she liked to dabble with.
I think people always want what they don't have. Like if you have curly hair you want straight, if you are short you want to be tall, stuff like that. Because you are an only child and wish you weren't, I just wish I belonged to a different family she laughed. Being an only child wouldn't be bad, maybe, if it wasn't in her family. Her parents were just nuts any way you looked at it. My parents and I don't really speak to each other at all anymore, I mean our communication has always been lacking but not we just don't even bother. They don't care what I do anymore and I don't care what they have to say she shrugged. She knew it was normal for families to fight but things were just different with her family, her parents had practically disowned her for practicing withcraft. But oh well, life goes on.
When Zane meantioned that is was getting late she glanced out the window and nodded. Yeah you are right, we should probably get going she replied and stood up. Before leaving she walked over and kissed his cheek I had a nice time too, talk to you soon I hope she added and turned with a wave before walking out the door. [/blockquote]
