SHADOWS WAIT YOU WHEN YOU RISE
[li]Language fluency - She has a strong grasp of many languages including English, Spanish, French, Italian, Latin, Sumerian, and German as well as a few Chinese dialects. She also has a strong knack for learning new languages on the fly well enough to get the gist of a text or basic conversation.
[/li][li]Can read and write ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics as well as Inca and Mayan pictographs and is well versed in archeology, anthropology, demonology and history.
[/li][li]Has had passable training in most forms of armed and unarmed combat, as required by Watcher's training. Although not the most athletic of women she does try to maintain her fitness level and is a pretty good swords woman.
[/li][li]Analytical mind - She possesses a strong problem solving, logic and reasoning ability. This is a very helpful thing as a watcher and can assist in the making of strategies and plans.
[/li][li]Loyal - Family and duty are of the utmost importance. She is also loyal a friend and employee and expects loyalty in return, one cannot expect to be given loyalty if one cannot give it back.
[/li][li]Dependable - If she tells you something, or tells you she is going to be somewhere, or do something, she means it and will, to the best of her abilities see that she doesn't let you down.
[/li][li]Focused - Task oriented and incredibly focused person, able to prioritize jobs and events that have multiple parts to them without undo fuss.
[/li][li]Limited magical ability - She possesses a knack for low level magics. Her power level is not much above that of a dabbler, but it does give her a greater understanding and knowledge of the magical realms.
WEAKNESSES
[/li][li]Human - She has no supernatural healing, speed, strength or agility. This makes her very vulnerable in her line of work.
[/li][li]Over thinker - Sometimes has a tendency to over think a situation, delaying necessary action.
[/li][li]Self doubt - This is her first official assignment from the Watcher's council and she has nagging doubts as to her abilities and whether she was the right choice for the job.
[/li][li]Technophobia - She knows that computers and cell phones and such the like have their place and can be useful but she infinitely prefers books and paper. This is partly because she has a difficult time figuring them out and has a tendency to break and lose them.
[/li][li]Stubborn - She can be a bit of a hard head about things once she's made up her mind about it.
[/li][li]OCD - One might say that she is an organizational freak, but it's a little more than just organization. Things like her stapler must be at a right angle to her post-it note holder, or she must always eat the green M&Ms first are what set her apart from the regular organized person.

Catherine is a somewhat modest, yet stylish dresser. When at work in the Miami High School library you will usually find her dressed in business casual clothing with long or three quarters sleeves, subdued and muted colors and v-necklines. For work she also tends to take the time to straighten her hair away from it's natural inclination to curl and poof, as she believes it presents a more clean and conservative image over all. On the weekends, in the summer and at other times when she is away from the High School, her clothing takes on a more casual air; crisp jeans, bright colors, short sleeves and even fitted tee shirts. Her hair is also permitted to do what it wants, within reason, and is not tamed under the flat iron.
Even though she has perfectly proper posture, Catherine still manages to carry herself in a slightly reserved, wall flowerish manner. She is also a little bit clumsy, lost in her own mind as she sometimes gets, and often drops things, trips or runs into things.
PERSONALITY Don't let Cathy's taste for nice clothing fool you into some how thinking that she is hip or cool because she certainly is not. Catherine is, was, and forever shall be a nerd. She couldn't tell you who the newest it band is, what “LOL” means or who got cut from Top Model last night. Pop Culture is meaningless to her life and thus she sees no real value in it. Her time is much better spent reading a good demonology, history or prophecy text or making entries into her watcher's journal or training her slayer.
That is not to say that she doesn't like to have fun, she absolutely does, it is simply that her idea of fun tends to be very different than that of most other people. She enjoys going to classical concerts, operas and the ballet. She is also an accomplished musician at both the violin and the piano, although she is a bit shy about her abilities if you discover them, and ask her to she will play for you. She adores playing and playing for others.
She has the classic dry, British wit and sometimes abuses sarcasm. Her jokes and references can also sometimes go over everyone else's heads. She doesn't get easily flustered and tends to bottle most of her emotions inside, presenting a calm, stoic outer demeanor to the rest of the world. She tends to remain calm and stable in a crisis and allows the others around her to use her as a grounding or centering point to help keep themselves in check. Catherine is very serious about timeliness, deadlines and punctuality. She considers time and timing one of the most important things in her work and, therefore, her life. After all, show up even 1 minute too late and the entire world could, quite literally, go straight to hell.
Typically she is a very patient, helpful and tolerant person, but she has absolutely no time for rude, demanding, or bigoted people. She can also be very stubborn about things that she has already made her mind up about and has the will power to back it up. It's not easy to change her mind about something. Be it a course of action or a person, she knows how long and hard she contemplates and analyzes things before forming a solid opinion and because of that there is little room for factors that would alter that opinion.

With her parents busy attending to Council business, she spent her entire school career at a Council run boarding school, (her elder and younger brothers also attended the school) coming home only for holidays and summer breaks. Catherine was a very happy child and young adult as she was well suited to the scholarly life that had been decided for her. She had no issues with authority and had a mind hungry for knowledge.
She excelled in nearly every course put to her, her short comings where always seen in the practical application of weapons and hand-to-hand combat. Her achievements made her parents very proud and resulted in a close relationship between she and her father, who saw Catherine as the shining star of the family. Her eldest brother was always a bit jealous of both her achievements and her relationship with their father. Her younger brother, the black sheep of the family, couldn't have cared less.
When Catherine was of university age she applied and was accepted to Kings College of the University of Cambridge. There she earned post graduate degrees in Archeology & Anthropology, Linguistics and history. Upon her graduation she was called by the Council to take her place within the organization. She followed the directive with vigor, reporting to her duties the day she left her university dorms.
She began her official Council career in an administrative capacity, learning all the ins and outs of the various policies and procedures and the intricacies of the day to day operations. It wasn't long before she was leveled up and became an apprentice to one of the newly appointed Watcher potentials. Catherine was a fast learner and possessed nearly every quality that the Council heads liked to see in their subordinates. As such she continued to move up the ranks from apprentice to trainee and finally she was added to the short list of active Watchers. In this capacity she helped to over see the education, training and preparation of the Council's in house potentials.
She served, happily, in this capacity for several years. Then, one day less than a year ago, she was called before the Head Council Board and informed that, due to the failure of the previously assigned Watcher (her elder brother), the slayer was in need of a new watcher. She was informed that this was to be her new assignment and that she was to report to Miami, Florida, taking on the role of High school librarian, and await the arrival of her Slayer.
Excited and elated, but also somewhat trepidatious about their choice, Catherine packed up what things she would need, which wasn't much as most everything from house to furniture would be provided by the Council, and boarded a plane bound for her new life. She has now been living in Miami for a little over 7 months and it has given her time to become nicely established within the community.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT Catherine is the Watcher to the currently active slayer so getting her into the game/plot shouldn't be difficult. As far as character plot and such I am thinking that her loyalty to the Council could be played on to make for an interesting plotline and be useful in her development over the course of the game.

Catherine gave a small cough and waved her hand in front of her face, in an attempt to keep the rest of the dust from floating up her nose or into her mouth. Why did everything back here have to be so dusty all the time anyway? She loved the stacks, but for the copious amounts of dust that always seemed to layer over the books. The stacks were the perfect place for the storage of all the various and sundry books of importance that the Council had supplied, and continued to supply to her, mostly because nobody but herself ever wandered into them. Oh, but the dust! She was starting to think that it was some sinister, evil plot of the hellmouth, some attempt to smother everyone in settled grime and take control of the town.
Ignoring the thought, she moved up a rung higher on the shelf ladder and reached toward the top shelf trying to wrap her hand around the spine of Tzel's Ancient Prophecies, the book she needed to double check some information that had recently come her way. Fact checking was one of her favorite things about her work and she had an exciting list of names, dates and page numbers running through her head at the very moment that she couldn't wait to get down to business on.
Unfortunately, that meant that she wasn't paying attention to the book she was grabbing a hold of and pulling from its space on the shelf. It was with a yelp, a slip, a mad grab and a lost shoe that she was made to realize that she had inadvertently grabbed two books instead of one, and that her hand wasn't large enough, or strong enough, to hold onto either. The tomes went crashing to the floor, landing in a noisy, battered heap a little ways from the ladder. Her left shoe landed beside them seconds after.
Blowing upward at her bangs, which fluttered against her forehead in response, Catherine rolled her eyes at herself and climbed down off the ladder. When she reached the floor she took a moment to slip her pump back on her foot before gathering up both books, the unneeded one now needing to be checked over for damage, and heading back out toward the library proper.
