~Daniel has an excellent grasp of the English language. He also has an excellent grasp of six spoken demon languages, and four written. He can speak and write most romance languages, and can have a basic conversation in Arabic. He's currently working on learning Ancient Greek. He speaks no Asiatic languages.
~When Daniel wants something, he's charming. When he doesn't want anything, he's polite. He doesn't make enemies for fun, and while his sense of humor is undoubtedly cruel as well as being British, most people leave with a good impression of him.
~Daniel has the gift of rhythm and pitch. His singing will leave no one running for the hills, and his dancing is a little better than decent. While he doesn't really bother to keep up with the changing habits of society, his foxtrot, waltz and tango are impressive.
~Daniel is a vampire. All of the perks of being a vampire are his: He's stronger, faster, his senses keener, his healing faster, and he's never going to die. He's not the world's oldest vampire, but he's old enough to have learned a thrall, and how to seem to disappear without a trace.
~While most men struggle with the concept of seducing a girl with flowers, with Daniel, it's an art form. As an added bonus, Daniel doesn't have to deal with bad breakups. When he's bored with a woman, he can always kill her.
~Having lived a long time, and having a fairly active social life, Daniel knows a lot of people. Should you need anything, from a mercenary, to rumors, and rare artifacts, books, and more, he knows someone who has it, or someone who can get it for you. If you've got what he wants, Daniel will deliver.
WEAKNESSES
~Fighting is dirty, messy, and dangerous. Daniel does not appreciate any of those things. He fully intends on living forever, and does not like high risk activities like fighting. Consequently he's never applied himself to truly learning how to fight. He is not as advanced in the martial arts as one would expect for a vampire of his age.
~Daniel is cowardly. While he has his honor(A holdover from his human days), he tries to avoid any situations where his honor could be challenged. When it comes right down to it, he's not reliable in any situation requiring personal danger.
~Material objects hold a lot of sway over Daniel. He refuses to live his (un)life in anything less than the best. Tailored suits, furnishings fit for a king, fantastic artwork, even jewels. If it's beautiful, it's probably something he wants. It also makes him easier to find, and makes it harder for him to simply leave when a place starts to get dangerous. It also makes him easier to bribe.
~Daniel's Vampire Children hold a special place in Daniel's heart. He would have a great deal of difficulty ever asking to have them killed, even should they display homicidal tendencies toward Daniel. He has a weak spot for all of them.

Come crawling faster,

While Daniel is not particularly muscular, he's tall(a little over six feet), and fit. He is always dressed immaculately, generally in an old world style suit. He has perfected the art of lounging and will use almost any excuse to show it off.
He keeps his dark brown hair short, and avoids hats. Slightly at odds with the rest of his appearance, he maintains the smallest amount of stubble at all times. A lover of his commented on the fact that it might have something to do with the fact that not all vampires can grow beards. Eyebrows are dark, and thick, hovering just above his hazel eyes. His nose is a little odd looking, rather pointed, but his lips
Being as he spends a good deal of time with books, Daniel takes excellent care of his hands, and has been known to occasionally go for a manicure. While his taste in jewelry is usually circumspect, he has a weakness for flashy rings.
PERSONALITY
Perhaps being turned slightly older than your average vampire has effected Daniel's personality. He's no anarchist, and he has no wish to see his pleasant life embroiled in a plot to destroy the world. He's also a bit of a snob. He picks his meals very carefully, either because he believes they deserve to die(for the sin of being trashy, or having no fashion sense, or having an annoying voice), or because they are exactly the kind of tasty morsel he looks for. If he's lucky, he'll find someone with class, and beauty, and be able to eat them instead. However, they are rare, and he tends to stick to the lower class for normal feedings. This may also have something to do with keeping a lower profile. Simply eating the best and brightest of society would get him tracked down much faster.
Daniel has no ambition for power. He wants to simply enjoy himself. It doesn't keep him from occasionally getting involved with those seeking power. They generally tend to be part of his Vampire family, but he's known for bailing should the project get to dangerous. He also goes out of his way to avoid Slayers. He killed one once, but it was very close. He never wants to do that again.
Having been a scholar before being Turned, Daniel has remained bookish. His love of material things includes fine editions of prophesies, and histories, and rare editions of various occult books. While he has absolutely no aptitude for Witchcraft, he does have one of the finest craft-related collections he knows of.
He has no head for applied business, and has hired stock brokers and accountants to make sure that he has money accessible from any point in the world, and an easy way to keep in the lap of luxury. While if all of his money was lost tomorrow, he'd still be able to build it back up, he has no interest in spending the time working on it.
Hoarding is a nice term, but it may apply to Daniel. He hates to give up the nice things he acquires, and often has more things in his living space than is entirely healthy.
Movies, from the earliest moving pictures to the loud blockbusters, to the sophisticated art flicks all hold some fascination for Daniel.
LIKES
*Grace Kelly, a good model for a first class lady
*Champagne, he enjoys the way it looks in a glass, and the taste isn't half bad
*The Ballet
*Metal, the music style. What, a guy can't have layers?
*Mechanical Transport(Cars, Trains, etc. Being from a time before that, he really appreciates the convenience)
DISLIKES
*Animals, other than fish. They don't like him, so he doesn't like them either.
*Vampires who Fang-lisp. Sure, it takes some effort to learn how to talk normally, but it's worth it. Particularly if you're running around with your face Vamped all the time.
*Slayers, and their groupies. He doesn't like it when his food starts arming itself with with crosses, stakes and holy water. He likes his food helpless, and these people make it more dangerous to feed.
*Flowers that only bloom in the day. He wants to be able to see them as well.
*Cubic Zirconium. If you can't afford a real diamond, don't wear a fake. It's completely trashy.

Born into a middle class household in the Reign of King George the 3rd, Daniel was nothing special. He had several siblings, a mother who was a housewife, and a father who did something that made decent money. He was well educated, with an education that included the arts, as well as math, and reading. As he was gifted with languages, when he was finished with schooling he got a job as a document transcriber. After several promotions, he finally moved out of his parents house and into a section of London well known for it's less than noble pursuits.
Daniel, a man who had never been witness to any of these salacious practices found himself running about with a pack of other men who slept with doxies, smoked opiates, and drank alcohol every night. And while he was fascinated, he watched more than he partook. Twenty something years of a middle class upbringing wasn't easily overcome. In the mean time, work progressed quite well, and his mother was pressuring him to find a woman, marry her, and become a family man.
Unfortunately for that poor woman, fate had different plans for her son than the fat grandchildren she dreamed of.
An older vampire had become interested circumspect well-educated English Gentleman who was becoming so famous for translating documents of all sorts. With documents of his own to have translated, he tracked the man down, sweet talked Daniel into smoking opiates, and when Daniel finally regained his senses, he was in a box six feet under the ground, and incredibly hungry.
After fighting his way out of the box, he was introduced to his new world, the world of demons and their ilk. And it was fascinating. He quickly became immersed in finding out more about this new world, and tagged along with his sire for several decades.
However, his sire was becoming more and more obsessed with finding and killing Slayers. Daniel, who had learned to fight reluctantly, completely disagreed with this plan of action. Daniel fully intended on living forever, and playing with Slayers was a midge to dangerous for him. So, he paid his respect to his Sire, and moved out onto his own path. Traveling aimlessly for several years, he explored the world, learning more about vampires and demons, and the origins of the world.
He ended up heading into Scotland, fully intending on researching a particular kind of demon rumored to only exist there.
However, in a great ironic twist, the Vampire who'd abandoned his Sire to avoid Slayers found himself suddenly co-existing with a Slayer in a village high up in the mountains of Scotland. While he would have normally taken off before she had a chance to come after him, the Slayer caught him feeding. And that was what lead to the most horrific experience of his life.
Fighting with a Slayer.
Daniel fought, and fought, and fought, and was fairly certain that the Slayer(who was a better fighter than him, but at a slight disadvantage, as she was recovering from a sickness), was going to fight him into daybreak, and the sun would kill him. However, after what felt like hours of fighting, she slipped, and while she was dazed he drained her dry.
And while the experience of drinking Slayer Blood is one he'll never forget, Daniel doesn't think it was worth the risk.
After that experience, he left Scotland, feeling the need for something new, and ended up in America. Finding that he truly appreciated New York City, he stayed for several decades, amassing a ransom of valuable items.
While attending a party looking for a late night snack, Daniel met a most compelling woman. Within hours, he'd decided not to kill her, and turned her instead. It was, at least for now, the best decision that he's ever made. He quite likes the newest of his children. She's turned out quite well.
However, there was no longer enough room in New York for the both of them, so he decided it was time for a move. Having heard rumors that his Sire is currently existing in Miami, Daniel has decided to move there. He has not, unfortunately, heard the same rumors that say the Slayer is also living in Miami.
CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Daniel doesn't want to kill the Slayer himself. But he would like her to move out of his city. Or die, and have the Slayer power reborn elsewhere. He's found he likes Miami. He wants to stay, so she needs to go.
He can also serve as a conduit for information, and can serve as a helping hand to bring in any item needed for any plot reason.
Also, he can cause some chaos. Just as long as it doesn't leave him in any danger. And if it does leave him in danger, he can sell out his supposed partners.

There was something about a man in a polyester suit that bothered Daniel.
Polyester was cloth designed for messy children who were always playing in mud, and growing out of clothes practically before having a chance to wear them. Occasionally, it was meant for tacky young women who wanted to expose as much of their nubile bodies as they could without having the police called. It was never meant for any man who was not attending his own bar mitzvah.
So, for a man to enter a bar that Daniel had chosen wearing a polyester suit- well, it would suffice to say it was a mistake. However, Daniel had fed recently, and he didn't particularly feel like a snack. Eyes narrowing slightly, he sipped at his white wine carefully, wondering how much longer he'd have to wait at this bar for his Childe. If it was for more than a few minutes, he just might have to eat(or at least kill) this man.
His hand brushed down his own dark, wool suit, admiring the faintest pinstripe, and how the blue interacted with his skin tone, and then glanced back at the polyester suited man, who was now bragging loudly about having closed a deal with a difficult client.
The vampire shuddered with true abhorrence. It was becoming rapidly clear that this polyester excuse for a man frequented this particular bar often. And if Daniel wanted to be able to frequent this bar as well, the polyester man would need to go.
He raised his hand to flag a waiter down, carefully planning his attack. It wouldn't do to be forced to abandon a bar he liked so much simply because the patrons were suspicious about his involvement with this man's disappearance and subsequent death.
Well, no matter. Daniel would think of something. He always did.
