Hope walked towards Arya's house like she had the last few weeks. She had never been so happy as she was with Arya. She had been a good friend to her and never said a mean thing to her. Even when she started talking to herself Arya pretended not to notice.
She really wanted to play with the horses but they got really spooked whenever she got close to them. That made her really sad but there was nothing to be done about it.
Over the last few weeks the darkness inside had gotten stronger inside her and it had taken a real effort to hide it from her. Even still she knew Arya had begun to suspect something was wrong. She wasn't as powerful a witch as she first thought she was but she would be sensitive to the power that was starting to leek off of her. You would have to be completely unaware of magic to miss it. She was getting scared. She was beginning to feel like she was going to burst.
If she was smart she would have stayed away from Arya and kept her safe. But she wanted to believe that it would pass. She would start to feel better again. She was almost to Arya's door when she started to feel really bad. She was getting really scared. It was coming and she didn't know what to do. Her first thought was that Arya was a witch. Maybe she could help her. She rang the door bell and hoped Arya would get there in time.
Arya opened the door with a smile on her face but it quickly fell when she looked at her. She must have felt it. She looked at her with a mixture of fear and concern.

Arya had been swimming right before Hope had knocked on the door. Good timing in a way though because at least Arya wasn't still in the pool when her friend had showed up. Instead, she answered the door with a towel wrapped around her body, her hair was still dripping a little bit of water but she had done her best to throw it all up into a bun to keep it out of the way until she could take a shower. When she saw the expression on Hope's face she knew that something must be wrong, but what she wasn't sure.
Hope was a strange person at times, talking to herself and suffering from occasional mood swings. But Arya had just merely noted these things and then written them off in the back of her mind, she didn't like to point out peoples flaws especially if it would hurt their feelings. Other than that though Hope was fun to hang out with and they had been hanging out a lot the last couple weeks after school. Generally they just watched movies or went on walks and the like. It had been fun and nice to have a friend that was a girl especially because she hadn't been spending as much time with Zane lately due to busy and conflicting schedules.
What's the matter? she asked with concern in her voice, she didn't bother to invite Hope in because the girl knew by now that she didn't need an invitation to come into the house. Hope had met all of her siblings and even her parents, and of course her parents had been ecstatic to know that Arya had a friend other than Zane that seemed normal. Well normal might not be the right word to describe Hope or anyone else that Arya was friends with but her parents didn't need to know that.
Right now she needed to focus on helping her friend who looked worried and troubled about something. [/blockquote]

In a small panicked voice she said "Arya .... help... .me ... please!!" Even before she finished the sentence she could feel herself fading away while feeling like she would explode. This was worse then any of the other times she had felt like she was losing it. She couldn't hold it back, it was to powerful.
She couldn't stand on her feet anymore and collapsed onto her knees and looked up at her. Begging her with her eyes to fix this, to stop whatever was happening to her. To use her magic somehow. She suddenly heard the horses screaming and trying to break out of there stalls. The pain in her head was becoming to much to bare and she started to scream in pain.
After several moments she stopped feeling pain ... and that was scarier then the pain because she couldn't feel anything anymore. She started to feel 'Hope' fade away. Everything that was her was disappearing. She grabbed at Arya and held her hand in a hard grip and looked at her pleadingly. "Don't let it get me!!! Don't let the dark eat me!!! Its coming and I can't stop it this time!!! By now her eyes had changed from blue to glowing bright red.
She didn't know if Arya tried anything because by now there wasn't enough of 'Hope' left inside her. She felt her last thought start to fade...Please don't let the darkness hurt Arya...and then everything that was Hope disappeared. At that moment there was a burst of power that caused a incredibly powerful wave of magical power spreading out from the girl that was Hope Tayler. It would be felt through most of the state but those in the city with magical power would feel like a scream had sounded in there heads and Arya was at ground zero.

Arya stood there looking at her friend in bewilderment. Her friend was obviously in pain and suffering but there was nothing that Arya could do. She didn't even know what Hope was going through which meant that even if she had been skilled enough with magic she couldn't have helped her. She needed to know what was happening before she could fix it. I don't know what to do! I can't help you if I don't know what is happening to you she pleaded back at Hope as the girl collapsed to the ground.
It was painful to watch her friend suffer so much and it killed her that she couldn't do anything. She wasn't powerful enough, she was just a practicing witch, her power was nothing compared to what Hope needed. She was a failure and that was that. What good was being a witch if she couldn't even help people when they clearly needed it. She watched as her friend slowly faded into the darkness, as Hope slowly disappeared into something more, something dark. I'm sorry! Arya cried trying to keep her friend with her and keep her in the light but it was impossible, it couldn't be done.
When everything was done and Hope was silent, the screaming had stopped Arya knew she had lost. She didn't know what she had lost but she knew that whatever it was, it wasn't going to be good. Her fears were only proven more when a sudden screaming sound filled her mind, a burst of power. The power was strong and dark, as the scream ripped through Arya's head she let out a scream of her own and grabbed the door frame. It was so powerful and dark that it caused Arya to lose consciousness, her limp body dropped to the ground near the body of the being that was once her friend Hope. [/blockquote]

There was nobody home in Hope's body for almost a full minute though she still breathed and heart beat. Then Lilith rose from the ground and opened her eyes. Her first thought was 'Free!' She was free at last. Hopes still had a small part of her mind now but it wasn't much.
She looked at the girl who was on the ground beside her. She sensed she was a witch and her good mood plummeted. She remembered the time that she was locked in that urn and she scowled fiercely. She was already starting the motion to set her on fire when hope's mind interfered with the magic and she was still to weak from freeing herself to fight her just this moment so she would have to leave her be, for now. She would remember this house..and one day soon she would pay a visit. That thought made her smile again. "I will be seeing you again little witch". Leaving Arya behind on her doorstep she walked out into the night. Forgetting all about the pink bunny backpack..and more importantly the Book.
When she broke free the magic she had placed on the book dispersed. The book title read 'Blackest Magics and Rituals'.
