Pacing the room, Axel sighed. Apparently he wasn't going to be treated as a prisoner anymore, more like a house guest. He wasn't confinued to Julien's room, which did make him feel more free. However he still felt the need to stay in the room, mainly because it was Julien's, and he felt a connection with the vampire that he hadn't felt with anyone else. After all, Julien had saved him and helped him grasp this place and its surroundings. He had looked after him when he was weak and unable to think for himself. He was still weak, he could feel it inside every fibre and muscle of his body. However he knew he was strong enough to do something other than stare at a white wall in the dark all day. It was relaxing though, he had to admit. And it also allowed him to learn about his surroundings, and properly adjust to them as well.
Opening the door, he innocently glanced at what was outside. A hall, no doubt. He walked down it slowly, taking in all the surroundings in great effort and detail. Making his way down the stairs, he held onto the railings, as if he needed them for support or something. Maybe he was stronger than he thought to be, however because he did usually possess so much power and energy, it was a huge adjustment to get used to in this world. He could slowly feel himself becoming more at ease and comfortable, but it was a working progress. Julien had insisted that he rest in his bed or something along those lines, however he felt compelled to explore the manor, and be active. He had already had enough sleep since coming here. It wasn't something he wanted to continue pursuing anytime soon. He had much to learn, and he wanted to learn as quickly as possible. Then the fun could begin.
Entering the kitchen, he looked around curiously, before opening the fridge. He closed his eyes, feeling the chill erupt over his body, forcing him to close the fridge door. "Cold..." he muttered softly, before inhaling. He opened the door again, this time withstanding the cold temperature and glancing around the fridge curiously. There wasn't much in there, this being a vampire's home and all. But Julien was nice enough to provide some food for him, being a non-vampire and all. Blood just wasn't on his menu, unfortunately. He selected an apple, and closed the fridge door, taking a curious bite out of it, closing his eyes momentarily, as if taking in the new senses. "Mmmm...." He muttered softly to himself.

Toby was bored. Being inside all day was rather boring, although it was better than being burned. But usually Julien would be there to play with him, so it wasn’t bad at all, but the older vampire appeared to be busy today. All of the vampire’s appeared to be busy. Something had happened, he was aware of that...and now there was a new scent in the house which picked at his never ending curiosity, but every time he went to ask someone about it, he got distracted. Usually in a good way, but distracted none the less. He wasn’t sure what had happened...only that they were now living here. And it was nice, here, in this big house. He’d explored for days on end, stories from his childhood of children finding secret lands in cupboards flitting through his head. He hadn’t expected to find any...but then again, he hadn’t really expected anything like vampire’s to exist before this had happened, so he’d thought it had been worth a shot.
He’d been doing that today, for quite a while, up in the upstairs rooms. But he’d been put off when he’d accidently waved his hand in a path of light coming through a gap in some curtains. Light burned. And then the pain had made him hungry, so he’d headed back downstairs. This time playing a game of not-being-spotted. He wasn’t sure what to make of the other vampires. They’d laughed at him when he’d asked for pizza, that time. But they didn’t hurt him. So that was a plus.
He skipped towards the kitchen, light on his feet, not that he really noticed it, but then froze just outside the door. It was that scent. That scent. The new one he’d been curious about. And it was strong, coming from that room, the kitchen...Should he go? That smell was powerful, no doubt about it, but not vampire...and not human. And he wasn’t sure about demon, but he didn’t like demons. Demons’ scared him. So...going probably was safer...
No, that was a stupid idea. His curiosity was too great for that. Warily, he poke his head around the doorframe, fixing his eyes on the figure. Julien had said observing without being noticed was a good thing...to watch, and size up someone he wasn’t sure about in case it did turn out to be a threat. He remembered that, and started doing it...And then cocked his head, with a frown. It was eating an apple. More to the point, it was eating the apple he’d been planning on eating. Well, that he’d been planning on eating as soon as he’d found this was the way to the kitchen, anyway.
“That’s mine!” he cried indignantly, and then instantly realised it, clapped his hand over his mouth and ducked his head back behind the doorframe.

If he wasn't as weakened as he currently was, he might have actually sensed someone approaching him from behind. When he heard the cry of a man, he jumped slightly, before looking in the direction of the voice. He saw a figure quickly move behind the door frame, preventing him from seeing who was making the noise. Curiously, he walked slowly, whilst also cautiously, over to the door frame, before looking around the corner, noticing a boy, who looked about his age. But what startled him the most, was that it was a vampire. Shame, he might have enjoyed the presence of a human. He hadn't encountered any yet, unfortunately. Guess his impatience would have to continue, seeing as Julien was insistent on him staying in the manor and not involving himself with anything or anyone outside. Yet.
He quickly pushed the vampire towards the wall, grasping him by the throat. "I don't see your name on it. Since when did vampires eat apples, huh?" He questioned, showing some aggression in his tone. "Who are you? And what are you doing around here?" He didn't know much about Julien and the rest of the manor, outside of his room of course. Maybe this boy was alligned with Julien, maybe he wasn't. Axel honestly didn't give a damn. He was the type of act now and ask questions later. Even though he was doing both simultaneously at this moment.
Glancing at the boy more closely, he felt a slight chill of fear, which he judged by the way the vampire had taken off after claiming ownership of the apple. "This apple is yours? Just like this place is Juliens?" He stated, moreso as a rhetorical question. He paused in thought for a moment. "Here," he stated softly, before handing the boy the apple. "You can have it. I only wanted to take a taste." If he hadn't sensed vampire, this boy would probably have a fist through his skull right now. But he had a soft spot for vampires, after all he had grown up around them. If he could trust anyone, it was a vampire. Not one of those pathetic humans. He was one of them unfortunately, but he was different. He was better.

He squeaked. He actually squeaked, and if he’d been thinking anything other than badbadbadbad, run! he would have been rather embarrassed. As it was, that fight or slight syndrome had kicked in, because this definitely was not a human. But Toby wasn’t one for fighting. Biting, yes, fighting, no. No, he wasn’t good at fighting. But Julien had said he’d teach him, so that meant he would get better. Only, flight was out of the question as well. Judging by how he was suddenly pinned against a wall.
“Toby, ‘m Toby!” he said, reaching up to grab at the hand around his throat with both of his. He didn’t know whether he could choke to death, but really didn’t want to find out. But then paused. And cocked his head, again, flitting his gaze towards the apple. “Oh....Was I meant to? I could have put my name on it, y’know, only I didn’t realise it was mine until I saw you eating it. ‘Cause I only realised I wanted one coming down the stairs over there.” Names on apples....well, he had been told that claiming was important. Maybe that’s what that meant.
He watched his warily, but snatched the apple as it was offered, clutching it close to him protectively. Was he teasing? He didn’t know. Other vampires did. They found it funny how he did still like human food, and often pretended to be offering it to him. One time, they’d put it in a patch of sunlight. It had been a milkshake then though, not an apple. But even this one made it sound like vampire’s weren’t meant to eat human food...which was silly, because there was enough food to go around in this area, and eating humans was basically just eating their food second hand.
“The taste is nice. I like the taste,” he said absently, looking back down at the apple, then raising it to eye level, “Wouldn’t eat it if I didn’t like the taste. Although, eating food is slightly difficult when your face goes all Grrr-y. Fangs slide off the apple skin, see?” He would have demonstrated, probably, except he still didn’t get the whole facey thing. And, as he had said, eating minus fangs was easier, so he just took a bite as he was, then looking at him with the first light of curiousity back into his gaze. “Who are you?”

He did like seeing fear in people, however he didn't understand why a vampire was displaying fear towards him. Had Julien spoke of him to this boy, Toby? That would make sense as to why the vampire might display some cautiousness around Axel, seeing him as a threat. Other than that, he always assumed vampires to be fearless creatures, which was one of the things he most respected about them.
Listening to the boy talk, he realized that he had the innate vampire nature to him. Like Julien, he claimed ownership over things, such as the apple in this instance. And like all vampires Axel had discovered, they liked to claim ownership on something after someone else has already taken it. Nethertheless, he did find it rather odd and interesting that the vampire seemed unsure of himself. Possibly a newy changed vampire? What would Julien be doing with one of them? Things went from confusing to incoherent upon the introduction of this young vampire.
Listening to the vampire speak of enjoying an apple made him slightly confused, and at the same time he saw it as rather pathetic. "Don't you drink blood like all the other vampires?" He asked curiously. Maybe this vampire wasn't just new, but completely stupid and lacking serious understanding of survival. "Where I came from, vampires fed on humans, not eat apples. Y'know how pathetic you sound?" He enjoyed the place he had came from. Though he wouldn't deny the fact that this place appeared promising. It was too light for the moment, but nothing time and violence couldn't change.
Walking to the side slowly, he turned back to the boy with focus in his eyes. "I like to be called Axel," he stated bluntly. He didn't even remember his real name, but he was named Axel by vampires, and just decided to go with it. He did like the uniqueness to it, after all. It wasn't boring like many human names, and had meaning to it, like the names vampires give themselves over time. "Are you a friend of Julien's?" He asked curiously. He had a fair idea he must have been either that, or some type of manservant, to be walking freely around the manor. Even Axel didn't have the luxury of doing that until now.
"It seems the contents of the apples you've been eating have blurred your focus as a vampire. Maybe you need a little help getting back on track..." He stated softly, before walking back into the kitchen and grabbing a small knife. He effortlessly cut into his forearm, not deep enough for blood to be pouring out however. He walked back up to the boy, looking at his arm, before glancing up at the boy. "Try it, I'm sure you'll enjoy it more than the apple. My blood is different to other humans. It might change your mind about what you enjoy eating." He lifted his forearm up to the vampire, almost innocently, yet aggressively at the same time. It seemed the vampire needed a little inspiration though. He quickly sent a punch towards the vampire's cheek. It would'nt have been a brutal punch, based on him still being weak. But enough to anger the vampire into changing, instinctively or willingly.

“I’m not pathetic!” he said with a scowl, narrowing his eyes at the other man. He didn’t like being called pathetic. Demons had called him that, and other vampires, and he wasn’t. “I drink blood. Course I do. Blood’s nice. But I like apples too. And pancakes. An pizza. And chips an’ milkshake, but not together, because that’s a bit weird.” He said, nodding his head stubbornly. He wasn’t pathetic. “Anyway, Julien calls me adorable. So there!” And then he poked his tongue out at the other man...Axel.
Neat name, that, Axel. Toby liked his name though. Well, Tobias did sound a bit poncey, but the St Valentine bit was nice. And ‘Toby’ was easy to say, and not so hard to remember. Other vampire’s had odd names. Axel. It didn’t sound...like a name a human would have (although he was still wondering about the human bit). “Did you forget your other name, and call yourself that instead?” he asked curiously, licking the last apple traces from his lips. He was curious about this new creature, and watched him as he moved around the kitchen. “Yep, he’s my friend,” he said proudly, nodding his head again, but with a grin on his face this time. “We play. And no...hasn’t blurred my focus. Still drink blood. But human food is nice.” He did tense slightly, as the knife was pulled out...
But then there was the scent of blood in the air, and the apple dropped to the floor, as the bloodlust which Toby was no where near controlling yet forced it’s way to the surface. He didn’t register the shifting of bone and the extension of his fangs as his demon face emerged, or the creature’s words, just the smell of the blood and the clamouring to feed. He was already changed, demon to the fore as the punch hit him on the cheek, and he didn’t really notice that either. Because the next moment he had darted forward, and his lips were closed over the cut and oooohh...That was nicer than human blood. Not so coppery..but powerful. He could feel the power in it even as the liquid trickled down his throat.

He couldn't deny that he enjoyed seeing the aggression present in the tone of the vampire. It was a start, to say the very least, in creating a monster. Not the pathetic thing he saw moments earlier. At least the vampire confirmed he did enjoy blood. He still found it odd though, that the vampire, Toby, liked human food as well. He had always assumed that vampires only liked well, blood. It was that simple. It was a necessity for their survival, why bother eating anything else? Or drinking, morelike. Many things about this boy were still not making any sense. Maybe with time, they would. Or maybe he could even question Julien, he might have the answers he was looking for.
At mention of the vampire being called 'adorable' Axel couldn't resist a soft chuckle, followed by a brief smirk. "Does he now? I guess I could see why he would say something like that. A little vampire who doesn't know what it means to be a man yet. Not even a scary vampire." Perhaps he might hurt the vampire with his words, but vampire's didn't have beating hearts, or souls. Therefore what was the point in sugar coating his words? He had always been blunt, and it might even help the vampire grow up a little, and 'man up.' "But if you wanna get competitive, I could ask you why Julien locks me up in his room all day, while he leaves you hanging around, apparently eating apples all day. Guess he really doesn't think much of you after all. Shame, really. You could be something." Toby did have potential to be someone, however he wasn't convincing Axel. The boy just appeared to lack drive and killer instinct. He seemed to lack a lot of things, just from observation.
At mention of names, he looked around softly. "Mmmm. Guess you could say that." A name was extremely important to Axel. In many ways, it defined who one was, and his name definantly defined who he was, which he was proud of. When Toby mentioned Julien further, he did feel a tinge of anger, and jealousy towards Toby. What was Julien seeing in him? He didn't even know why he felt this way. He didn't want to 'play' as Toby called it, with Julien. He just wanted to kill. Yet there was something about these boys words, which triggered something inside him, which he didn't know what.
He watched curiously as Toby had dropped the apple, apparently seeing a better offer. He didn't startle when Toby's face morphed into a vampire, he instead watched as Toby came foward and began drinking from his arm. He watched curiously, though could sense the inexperience, based on the way he was pulling at his arm. He closed his eyes momentarily, twitching his nose aggressively. He couldn't deny that he did enjoy the feeling of pain, and of having his blood drawn. It was one of the many things he had grown up around, something which just stuck with him. It was also a sign of friendship, that he was letting a vampire drink his blood willingly. He wasn't a blood bus, after all.
After feeling his arm weakening, showing that the boy had drained a lot of his blood, he pulled at the head of the focused boy, drawing his teeth out of his arm. "You did good, Toby. Guess you have the bloodlust in you, after all." He began crunching at his hand, getting some strength back in his hand and arm. "Good thing about being me, I heal fast," he stated, as he grabbed a towel from nearby and pressed it against his arm. "Maybe you could take me out one night, I could show me some real fun." He smirked softly. He wanted some violence, and just the thought of beating into a human made him grow tired of being cooped up around here.

“Don’t want to be scary,” Toby said, his voice slightly muffled due to the fact that he was still drinking. That was nice, being able to drink and focus on someone else at the same time. It was also a first. He hadn’t known it was possible before now, but evidently, it was. Intriguing, that... “Why would I want to be scary?” Was that this guys dream, to be scary? Why? Being scary didn’t sound that fun, in all honestly. “No one plays if they think you’re scary, I think.”
He tilted his head slightly at that question, thinking while drinking. So you could talk, drink, and think at the same time. That was....rather cool, actually. But hmmm, it was nice, his blood was nice. “’Cause you’re new,” he said promptly, “And you’re from the big fighty thing that happened. An’ probably ‘cause he doesn’t like new things wandering off. He’d know where you are if he locked you in there.”
Did it bother him, that? That Julien hadn’t been spending time with him, because he’d been locking this one up. Well, yes, slightly. He had been bored...but also, he’d been having fun exploring, until the burning hand moment. Besides, Toby didn’t like being locked up anywhere. He had been before, and it hadn’t been fun. Julien wouldn’t do anything like that, not to him. He wouldn’t... “He does like me. Wouldn’t have brought me here if he didn’t. He likes me purring.”
He shook his head sharply, trying to hold onto the blood flow, and then whining slightly as it was pulled out of his reach. Ohh...he’d been enjoying that. Usually he had a bit more than that. Not enough to kill, because then watching the humans staggering away from rather entertaining, but that had tasted nicer than human blood.
“Is that the burning, horrid, ouchy feeling?” he asked curiously, straightening up, then brushing his hand over his mouth to pick up any last drops of blood, licking at his skin like a cat would to get every last drop. He didn’t even think about changing his face back...didn’t bother. It’d do it sooner or later, probably. He perked up, looking hopefully at the other man. “Like a friend?”
Friend’s were good. Company was good, no matter what it was, as long as it wasn’t demon company. Vampire’s were demons though, according to them...but that train of thought just hurt his head, so he always considered vampire’s to be different to demons. “Could go to the club. That’s where Julien found me, and it’s warm. Lots of company there. And drinks.”

He tried listening to the vampire speak while drinking, but all he could hear was mostly mumbling. The vampire apparently was surprised by this multitasking ability he had uncovered, which soon improved his ability to multi-task. The vampire was young, and it was obvious he was inexperienced with biting and feeding off of people. There was pain, however Axel did thrive off of pain, so it was kind of an advantage in a way.
Most of the vampires who he would ever let feed off of him, he would quickly slay, and move on. It was kind of like sex. You sleep with someone, then you move on. There was no point in getting romantic with anyone, it was pointless. Though Toby had seemed interesting and appealing to Axel. He had never met a vampire who in vampire years was around his age. This was an assumption of course, not truth, but based on the fact that he appeared inexperienced, it was a strong assumption which he almost knew correct. Because of this vampire being in youth, it almost seemed appealing for him to have someone young as a friend, even a brotherly relationship. He never had siblings, or friends his age...Not that he could remember anyway. Therefore it could be a good thing, befriending this Toby. He didn't want all old vampires as his friends, after all.
"I was never one to stay in one place for long, though," he replied with a slight smile. "So cooping me up isn't really a good thing...I get angsty." Though what he knew of Julien, that would probably be something he would enjoy seeing.
He continued applying pressure to his arm, acting like no pain was there whatsoever, before looking at the boy. "Ouching feeling? Pain is for the weak, I thrive off of pain. Its a strength, not a weakness, friend." Pain made him more focused to excel. "Yeah, like a friend", he added, before moving closer to the boy and placing his arms around the boy's shoulder. It could be taken in a flirty way, or just the nature Axel had. "Yeah we should do that. Clubbing means lots of innocent people...Meaning more fun for us." He wondered what Julien would think of this, but honestly didn't care. He wasn't the type of person to stick to one person, and he was bored easily. And even alcohol? He was dying to have some of that, always made the situation more fun and lively.

Toby dragged his gaze away from the boy...man's?...wrist with difficulty. That had been nice, nicer than other human blood. No, that wasn't right, because human blood was wonderful, and amazing, and warm, but there were so many flavours. He got bored of one of them easily, and so abandoned whoever he was feeding from to go to the next. But he wasn't bored of this taste. It had been different.
He nodded his head, understanding that perfectly, in his eyes. "Me neither. But I don't get angsty. I just get bored. And then people say annoying, but I don't think that's right." He wouldn't have done that before. Before all this, he could remember being good, and quiet, and shy and more likely to sit around reading that act as he was now. But the change...he wasn't sure what it was, except it made him feel much more alive. Though, it couldn't have done, because he was dead. Apparantly, and his family and friends from the Old Time thought so, according to Julien. Oddly, he couldn't bring it in himself to care.
he tensed slightly, blinking at the other man, trying to gouge his meaning..whch didn't really work, that well, but it'd do. "I don't like pain..."he said quietly, shaking his head. "It's not a strengh. Makes me feel alone and scared and then I don't know what to do. Although..." he trailed off, looking up at the ceiling consideringly, sucking the last drops off blood from his finger. "The threat of it does make you do more things. Like run away."
He grinned, dropping his hand, and feeling more than recognising his face shift back into the human features now there was no more blood. It was happening more quickly now, that change. Not when he wanted it to, like Julien could, but still happening. And an arm around him, that was nice. Julien did that a lot to. He refrained from purring this time, just. "Clubbing means music. And company. I like it." Innocent people? He paused, wondering what he'd meant by that. Humans were innocent...Well, that was more confusing thought, because he'd always thought them to be innocent only if they chose to be, but now he either thought of them as being alive, and then food. "Fun I like though. I like fun."

He smirked as the vampire expressed his displeasure for pain. It was rather surprising that a vampire would feel this way, but he was young after all. Nothing that couldn't be changed, with time. He was also very innocent, which seemed absurd, considering he was a creature of the night who killed. But based on Axel's observations of how he speaks, how he reacts, and the way he says things, he was innocent in many ways. He was also confused about a lot of things, which Axel would be there to answer for him, if he could. Thats what friends were for, after all. He usually worked alone, but having an ally might actually prove beneficial in the long run.
"You're a vampire, friend. A killer, destroyer. There is nothing to run from...People run from you, because they will fear you. You just need to give it time, and you will be awesome." He continued looking at the boy, thinking of something else to say. "You're still new, soon things will come naturally to you. You will be someone I'd be proud to be brothers with, anyway." The boy had a long way to go, but in a way, his innocence was rather appealing to Axel, because he found it intriguing...Being a vampire and all. But what would make the experience more worthwhile would be to have a friend in their youth like Toby, who was like Axel in many ways. Ruthless, being one way of describing what Toby could be in time.
"I like fun too," he added with a coy smirk, before tightening his grip around Toby's shoulders, as if engaging in a hug, though they were still distance apart, to allow him to communicate with him. "We'll have a lot of fun together, Toby. You just need to stick with me, and you'll be fine. You won't be able to believe how different you will feel when you've been out more." He continued engaging in deep thought, before taking his arms away from around the boy's shoulders, and placing them against his hands, as if comforting him. "I have something I need to do, but I'd love for us to go out one time, and you could help me with a little something I have to do. Involves killing some people who could hurt someone who doesn't like your kind, would kill you if she had the chance." He smirked evily.

He tilted his head to the side, considering those words. Killer... The thought didn't make him feel anything, actually. But he still wasn't used to that, to not feeling about things he could clearly remember feeling about. Like his family, and killing, and hurting...not so long ago, those had all been important. Very important. And now...he just didn't feel anything except fear at a hint that he'd feel pain. He felt boredom now though. An energy, lots of energy, along with happiness when he wasn't bored. But caring? No...he'd have to ask Julien why that was.
"Brother's...I had a brother. Got killed by the guy who bit me." That should make him feel upset, talking about it. But it didn't. So he just shrugged, and grinned, dismissing that entirely. "I'd like a brother. Would you play and answer questions? Because Julien does that, you know, only it's slightly hard to concentrate when he answers questions."Proud of him...if he could have, he was pretty sure he should be flushing. That was nice, to be someone to be proud of. He could be that, he was sure of it. "I can make you proud of me." he said, then grinned again, this time the expression appearing a little like a smirk in the given light of the room. "I like making people proud of me."
"Are you allowed out then?" he inquired, looking at him thoughtfully, "Because if you were locked up, then you're probably not. And everyone was acting weird after the vampire Julien didn't like much was killed, when you came. Does that mean they want you to stay?" Would Julien want this one to stay here? Because if he left...well, he didn't want to make the much older vampire mad at him for something he didn't understand. That was silly. "I though you said we had nothing to run from?" Killing though...that was back to the caring. He didn't really care. He didn't kill when he fed from people, of course, but that was mainly because he never remained interested in the taste for long enough, and because he quite enjoyed seeing their reactions after. But he could kill. Probably. He'd never tried. Could be fun. And...he sort of wanted to, come to think of it..

Toby showed no remorse for his brothers death, which was a start. Though it could've easily been a natural vampire instinct to not feel remorse. People died, Axel could be described as a human, but he didn't feel remorse for dead, it was pointless. People died, time to move on. "I guess the guy who bit you isn't on the scene anymore, didn't make you wild enough." He knew if Toby was residing here as well, than Julien would also be involved in his upbringing as a vampire. Personally though, axel would prefer to help the boy out, rather than Julien do it. In many ways, Julien was too old fashioned.
The vampire seemed to rely too heavily on everyone else around him, Julien especially, and it did annoy him. He was a vampire, he could be strong, but he needed to be his own man and not anyone else's. That is the only way to thrive in this world. "I''ll do whatever you want me to do Toby, you're my friend after all." He smirked slightly, still gripping the boy by his hands. "You just need to be a strong vampire...Take control of someone like you took control before, drinking from me. Thats what would be good for you, Toby." He delivered a reassuring smile. As the boy mentioned pride, Axel went on. "I'm proud of you, and I'll be proud of what you're going to do to all those people we'll see when we go out," he shot a reassuring look towards Toby.
If Toby really understood who Axel was, he might second guess that statement he made. Axel wasn't being held here by anyone, he was being held by his own free will. He could leave at any time, Julien knew that. Axel was a free spirit, and if he set his mind on doing something, he'd end up doing it. "Course..." He stated softly. "I'm not locked up anymore. I'm stronger than I was then. I am staying, but there is nothing wrong with having a good time without them." He would do whatever he wanted, regardless of anyone. Toby needed to adopt a similar attitude if he wanted to survive.
"We don't have to run, they will be running," he stated with a smirk. "Maybe we can find one of the young girls, and we can play with her...Make her scream, kill her. It'll be fun," he reassured with an evil grin. "You tell me what you wanna do Toby, and I'll be up for it." He stated softly, before walking away from the boy and observing one of the ornaments, wondering what Julien saw in something that horrid.

“No,” he said simply, with another shrug, “Never met him.” He’d bitten him, said he’d be there, and then...hadn’t been. And had left Toby all alone, feeling different. And according to Julien, that wasn’t supposed to happen. But because it had happened, Tobias didn’t bother wondering what it might have been like. He had enough difficulty keeping concentration in the present as it was.
He darted forward, jumping up before twisting to perch on the edge of the kitchen table, tucking one leg up to him while the other swung. The inability to be still was hitting him again. He felt the energy that was not-so-foreign to his body anymore, coursing through him, making him want to do things.
Do whatever he wanted to? His brother had never done that. His brother had always told him what to do. This could be nice, really, telling someone else what to do. He grin increased, a lopsided, childish grin. “I take control, y’know. Before Julien found me. Fed by myself then, and humans came to me for being fed from. They loved it.” One town, that had been. One town, with the same humans, each with different flavours, and they’d liked him. Of course, he didn’t have much control now, if he was completely honest, like with the face thing, and with Julien, but still. He did what he wanted, mostly, which was the same thing, wasn’t it? “I’m going to bite them.” He nodded, beaming, because that made him feel hungry, just the thought of biting them. “Make them come to me and then bite them, then let them go. They have funny expressions, when I do that.”
“That won’t make Julien angry?” he asked, a little warily. He didn’t want to make the older vampire angry. An angry Julien meant no attention being given to him, and that was upsetting. “’Cause, if it doesn’t, cool! Don’t need rubbish vampires like the stupid ones to have fun. They’re all boring, anyway.”
He considered that, again, silent for a moment as he ran over those words in his mind. Make someone scream? Well, they could. He didn’t like screaming himself, but it could be different with someone else, of course. Although, humans were good company. And they enjoyed hurting one another too, so one might actually enjoy it. But, doing what he wanted to do...
He nodded, coming to a decision, before jumping down from the table, and grabbing the other boy’s hand. They were pretty similar in height, actually, which was good. Although, he did seem more powerful. But that could just be the blood. Tobias shrugged, before tugging on Axel’s hand, towards the door. “Music! Could go dancing, dancing’s fun, come on!”
