For someone that usually kept talking through almost anything, and took a hell of a lot of persuading to shut up, Toby was oddly quiet as he walked. His hands were still, even now being wrung out over and over again, in front of him, the movement automatic, and strangley comforting. But he wasn't saying much, not really. He was burbling, perhaps, and muttering under his breath, but..he'd been scared. He wasn't scared so much now, because Axel was here, but still...a little bit.
He probably looked a state as well. He'd run as fast as he could away from her, and to where he'd thought Axel to be. It hadn't been hard to find him, not really. Toby had barely noticed when he'd simply scented the air, catching the familiar, comforting scent and followed it. No, he'd just been looking for him, and then found him. How he'd done it didn't matter in the slightest, it really didn't. But when he'd found him, he'd grabbed him, mumbling in nonsense under his breath, managing to calm down slightly only then. And now they were here, with him still unable to fully explain, other than mutters about a "scary, bad, demon". But it was important. Tobias wasn't very good at knowing when something was important or not, admittedly, but this...he thought it was.
But he wasn't feeling very confident about this either, truth be told. He didn't want to see Her again. She'd scared him enough the first time, and she'd been his friend. She'd been Hope...perhaps, she still was Hope. But she'd sounded cruel, and then there had been demons, and she'd licked him. He couldn't supress the shudder that ran through him at the memory of that. "Can't...can't we just go home?" he couldn't help but ask, rather mournfully, and not for the first time.

It was rather strange, to say the least. Axel wasn't one to worry about people, because he didn't. But, he was curious as to where Toby had wandered off to, and what was taking him so long to return. He had walked around the mansion, rather bored and interested in doing something. Julien was out doing whatever, leaving him strandered there all alone. He glanced out the window, as if noticing a newer world out there. It had already hit nightfall, and it just looked so...Fresh out there. He needed to explore. Toby was a big enough boy to look after himself, he was confident in that. If the boy went and got himself killed that would be disappointing, but he wouldn't be losing sleep over it. He didn't need or rely on other people, and he definantly wasn't going to be sad or unhappy about someone's demise, no matter who they were.
Walking curiously down an abandoned alley, he looked out for some fun. It was as if he was a vampire, searching aimlessly for their prey- someone to kill. He would definantly be killing, that usually led to a boredom-cure. Julien had warned him about making the kills clean and smart, as he was still human after all and could easily be tracked by authorities, which isn't the case for vampires. He still didn't care, nor was phased by the possibility of that occuring anytime soon. In his own mind, he was that confident that authorities couldn't touch him anyway, because he was that much more superior than they are. They couldn't take him, even on their bad days. But even if something like that happened, being cooped up in a cell wasn't that big of a deal, apart from his restriction of freedom, and all. He had managed to remain so still and quiet in such a small place for a long time since appearing in this world, when he was in Julien's mansion. If he was in one of those cells, he would just fight his way out, leaving a bloody mess in his shadow.
He had sensed something coming full speed towards him. He turned, being rather startled when Toby had grabbed him fiercely, and began mumbling random jitterings. What the hell was wrong with this boy?! All he could get from the boy's ramblings were 'scary, bad, demon.' A demon? He knew Toby didn't like them, which made him believe that it was just some weird person who had alerted Toby's fear. He felt like disregarding Toby's accusations, however at the same time was interested in what had gotten Toby so riled up. If it meant killing, it could be a blast of a night after all. Toby soon expressed his uneasiness of the situation, wishing to go home. "No, been cooped up there all day, its time for us to have some fun, together. You gonna take me to this big scary 'demon,' or do I have to go find them myself?" He asked curiously, though with certainty in his voice as well. He would find them, if thats what it meant.

"Demons aren't fun," Toby couldn't keep the soft whine out of his voice as ihe said that, no matter how quietly the words came out. "They're not fun at all, no no. And she...she was my friend." That was the worst part, really. Of course, he didn't like demons at all - they're smell burnt his nose and made him feel little and afraid and pathetic (and he wasn't any of those things), but this one...Well, it had been Hope. Nothing should have been scary about Hope - not with her pink bunny rucksack and her shy smile. That was the root of his confusion, at this moment.
"Her," he corrected absently, "Find her, not them. Only her. Although...no, there were others, but she controlled them. I didn't notice them. But they weren't gonna let me go." Again, he was rambling, and as soon as he realised that he flashed an apologetic smile in Axel's direction. Was Axel annoyed at him? For a souless demon, who wasn't supposed to care (only have the memories of caring, which was...odd), Toby found that he did care, quite a bit, about what Axel thought. Silly as it may sound.
And then again...thinking back, the demon hadn't actually hurt him. Just...made him scared. And acted like she was better than anyone, which was fine in his mind, as long as she didn't hurt him. Finding her...well, she'd be annoyed. But, well, he didn't have to be afraid with Axel. Axel was strong, and liked killing, and he was right, it quite probably would be fun. So he slipped his hand into the other boy's, tugging on it to lead him back the way he'd come. Nothing to be afraid of, with him there.
"What does it mean when a demon licks you?" he asked, peering around to try to remember where he actually was - running in a panic didn't help his memory skills in the slightest. "Is that bad? Because I know the 'slave' bit was bad, but licking? Is that...friendly?" If it was, perhaps the demon wasn't so bad...
No, he was still scared. Thinking licking was ok didn't make him feel that much better.

Demons? Friends? What the hell was this boy talking about? He was slightly annoyed at Toby coming in his path to babble about this, however he was also curious as to what Toby was babbling about, and why it had crossed his mind. Although the boy did babble, what he usually babbled about meant something, no matter how silly it sounded. "Her?" He questioned curiously. He was this scared because of a girl? Haha. Now that was funny. What was to be scary about a girl, demon or not? In Axel's mind however, nothing caused him fear or reason to be afraid. Toby on the other hand...Had much to learn. Especially if he was going to let girls scare the hell out of him.
"Controlled them?" What, were they zombie minions or something? Although Toby was displaying so much fear, it only inspired Axel to be more interested in finding out who was behind causing the boy so much grief. A smirk had erupted on his face briefly, listening to Toby go on. "You made it here in one piece, guess they couldn't have been that mighty or powerful. I think we should go find em. Maybe join their little party or something?" If he was fully human he might have had some sympathy for Toby. But he wasn't, and therefore saw that Toby was fit and strong and could therefore stand on his two feet and survive on his own. Though Axel wasn't against aiding the boy in dire situations. They were brothers, after all. Brothers. Heh, he liked that.
Scary demon licking Toby? Seemed more like a dog liking a human. "Means they like you..." He stated with a coy grin. "Did the big scary demon girl scare you with her licking?" He laughed, showing no care for Toby's feelings. It was rather funny. Good. The boy had entertained him for the day. Now to top off the day by meeting the....Demon licking girl? He didn't particularily want to be on the recieving end of any licking tonight...Unless it was in the right spots. "If they didn't want to be friendly, you wouldn't be here telling me the story, now would you? Clearly your fears are gravely mistaken. You know if this turns out to be a drag, its all your fault. Then its up to you to find me some other entertainment." Possibly a body to torture, or something? That was usually fun, only if they screamed though. He walked foward, as if taking charge of an army. "Lead the way, my friend." He smiled firmly, awaiting Toby to move foward, not moving from his current stance.

"Yes. Her. She's a girl," Toby said, raising an eyebrow with a rather odd look in his friends direction. "Isn't that a rather obvious thing?" He had said 'her'/ Axel had repeated it. Why would he call someone a her if they weren't a her. Well, unless they asked him to, or unless they were being irritating and he thought it would just be overal easier to. But those thoughts were rather odd. "Only...not human. Human's don't have horns. But she was huan, and then changed, and then changed back, and it was rather confusing." Stupid humans. Only thing they were good for was eating...and spending time with when there was no one else.
He cocked his head sharply to one side, gnawing on his bottom lip, "Yeah...well, if there were some. She said there were...but after she was scary. So she could have been lying, really, but I didn't think she was." He wasn't making any sense, he knew it, but he thought that was perfectly justified as his own thoughts weren't making any sense either. "And yes. I ran away. It was rather odd..." he stopped, pausing again to consider that option. "Can you kill her?" Although...Hope had been his friend, and killing friends was wrong, he could remember that from the days when his heart had beaten and he actually felt...icky emotions like that. But she'd also been scary...and he was strong, they were strong, so they should kill her.
He shuddered. "Don't want her to like me. But that would be why she smelt funny. People smell funny when I eat them, and that's because Julien said they like it. But it's a nice funny, so it's all ok." A drag? Oh, he didn't want that. Toby was a creature who lived for fun, and that was obvious. They very hint that he was making something a drag had him pouting. "This can be entertainment. I've prove it." He nodded, before passing him, walking...not exactly confidently, but not exactly terrified either, in the direction of the park...again. He wasn't confident. Or scared, not as much as he had been. Axel would make it better. Axel was strong, and his brother, and that was...nice.
And Toby wasn't boring. Nothing he suggested ever turned out to be a drag. Which was what he was mainly thinking now - about proving it.
