The halls and corridors of the High School were quiet at this time of day. All the students were in classes, minus the urgent pitter-patter of the one student clutching books to their chest who ran past the young man, intent on getting to their lesson before someone noticed how late they actually were. Holster chuckled at the sight, watching the young girl with his eyes as he stepped out of the way with an amused look, hands in the pockets of his casual suit trousers. The hustle and bustle of a high school wasn't a strange thing, but the silence was something he still found rather eery. But it wouldn't be silent for long.
He hadn't been in this town long, and already the files he'd absorbed on the flight over were making sense. The one night he'd spent here, he'd already seen the shady figures outside, and it was clear that there were more in this town than in others. Which was why he was doing this now, why'd he'd cleared this part of his schedule for the day, so he could see the Slayer...His Slayer. That thought made him smile, and put a little bounce into his already eager step. He couldn't help be excited about this, could he?
He'd found out which class she was in, and was heading there now. The classroom door was closed, the monotonous drawl reaching him even through the door. He listened for a moment...before shaking his head, still grinning, and rapping smartly on the door. Polietly, in the english way, he waited for the talking to stop before pushing open the door, with a suitably polite and just slightly innocent look. He was the new guy, and he knew it. Might as well play it up when it came to the older teachers.
"Sorry to interrupt, but can I see Elizabeth for a moment, please?"

It was her second class of the day and her least favorite...US History. It wasn't that the material was boring but more that the teacher was ancient and all he did the entire class was drawl on and on in the most irritating and boring tone. It put you to sleep no matter how hard you tried to stay awake. She swore he could be a hypnotist if he really wanted a change in career path. At the particular moment he was reviewing the Cold War which was actually an entertaining subject but he made it dreary. Eliza enjoyed learning about America since she had always lived in Romania but she wished it was from a more uplifting teacher.
Like many other students her head was leaned on her hand she was trying her best to stay awake. When a younger man walked in and requested to see her the teacher stopped and eyed her with a nod. She grabbed her things quickly in her arms and stood to leave the classroom. Getting up like this in the middle of class always made her feel self conscious but at this moment she ignored it and walked towards the door.
Once out of the class she looked at the young man. Well here I am, who are you if you don't mind me asking? she questioned looking him over. He worked her for sure but she had never seen him around, he was probably new. He also had a British accent which suddenly triggered a realization in her mind. He must be her new watcher, Naomi had told her that one was flying in soon and that he was young. This guy fit the profile to a T, it must be him but she would allow him to speak first. Either way thank you for getting me out of that class, Mr. Guving is terribly boring to listen to she replied with a small smile, her accent was still thick as well. [/blockquote]

Holster couldn't quite hide the surprised look that appeared on his face as the teenager spoke for the first time, just as the classroom door clicked closed again and the droning started once more. "You're not American." Not that he had any problem with her no being American, but he hadn't known. And Holster felt uncomfortable with not knowing something when he'd thought he'd read up and checked over everything. It made him wonder whether he'd missed anything else; missed something that was in fact, very important. It was possible, and he didn't like the idea of that possibility.
He blinked, quickly, before starting off down the corridor again, heading back towards the samller councillor's office he'd been assigned. "I'm the new student councillor. Jonathon Holster. Only, call me Holster. It's nice to meet you." He smiled, profeshionally, inclining his head in greeting. And couldn't help but wonder whether she realised what he was. Introducing a Slayer to a Watcher was usually done calmly, according to the records, and with some degree of surprise on the Slayer's part. Hopefully, his way of doing this would be the right way. Messing up this early on was not something the young man was even considering at that moment.
"I'll admit I did look through your schedule and choose the time with the most boring staff member I've met so far. And not just for convienents sake." He knew Watchers were meant to be strict and profeshional, but Holster didn't see the poing of being any of that if the Slayer didn't actually like him to begin with. Working with and listening to someone you did not like didn't work, so being nice was the best idea.

Eliza found it interesting that none of the Watcher's knew that she wasn't American. It was quite amusing, she figured that would be a key part of the information packet. She wondered if the Watcher's got a little manuel before getting their own slayer, something like "your slayer and you." She couldn't help but laugh to herself at the thought of that. Don't worry about it, for some reason everyone around her mistakes me for American until I actually talk she laughed with a shrug. It didn't really bother her that people didn't know her that well, she kept herself off the radar usually.
Well it is nice to meet you then Holster, you already know my name but you can just call me Eliza she replied with a nod. It was fun watching him squirm a little, she was good at reading people. He was dancing around the fact that he was a Watcher just like she was dancing around the fact that she was a Slayer. It was like a little game they were playing with each other. He was walking towards an office into which she followed him. So am I a troubled youth or something? she laughed sitting down in one of the office chairs.
She had a good fake personality that she liked to show at school, it kept people from asking questions and bothering her. Inside she was pissed as hell at Logan, stressed about her job as a slayer and hadn't been sleeping much. Naomi had been training her day and night which hadn't given her much time to rest or think for that matter. Her grades were luckily holding up for now, but she didn't know how much longer she could hold them. Well then I must thank you for getting me out of there once again. I was almost asleep she replied crossing her legs in the chair. [/blockquote]

"It's the small fact that you're not American which wasn't brought up. Not that it matters, you understand," he added quickly, glancing at her, "It doesn't matter to me whether you're American, english or...Russian?" The last was a guess at her country. Despite Holster's keeness for languages, and knowledge of them, accents were still something that threw him.
"I don't know, are you? That's my job; to find out whether you are or not." He chuckled, closing the door behind them securely before moving towards the small desk the room provided. It was an office, after all, even if Holster himself preferred the sofa's. Other Watcher's enjoyed working at desks, he knew, but other Watcher's were older and stiffer in their ways. Holster wasn't either of those things, something which had gained him much ribbing back at the academy, but he knew what he was doing. The books said it might be a shock (although...he wasn't so sure about that now), and so he had to break it to her gently. Which was silly, because the records also said that this Slayer had known what she was, and could fight demons better than most before hand as well. He leant back against the desk, perching his hip againt it before reaching voer, rumaging in the top drawer on the other side without looking, feeling his way. "History is an interesting subject, I must agree. Even though it's taught so...boringly these days. But it's not like you can go back and relive it, is it? Well, minus magic perhaps. Catch." He added the last bit in an offhand way, his hand closing around the stake in the drawer, before pulling it out and throwing it at her, point first so it would strike if not intercepted. Sitting down and talking about it was all very well, but getting a feel for what she could do was a bonus. [/blockquote]

Eliza laughed and pulled her hair up into a ponytail when he guessed that she was Russian. He wasn't exactly close but he was in the right general region she supposed. Actually I have never been to Russia in my life, one of the only countries in Europe I haven't at least visited at one point in time. You are about three countries too high though, I originated in Romania, Bucharest to be exact she replied grabbing a pen from his desk and twirling it in her fingers. It seemed like she had done a lot of talking to people lately.
Well now Holster I guess I could say we are all troubled in some way or another. But there are some people that can handle it and some people that can't. I am one of the people that can, I don't need to tell somebody about my day to day life and listen to them ask me "and how does that make you feel" like they actually care. So if you want to know something particular about me I suggest you ask otherwise I doubt you will ever find out she replied in a frank and to the point voice. She wasn't one to confess her issues to crack pot's that thought they knew how to diagnose problems. Of course she knew he was a Watcher so right now she was just messing with him, showing her attitude.
He was casually talking about history and she was just as casually not looking at him at all in her own world when she heard him utter the word catch. Instantly her hand snapped up and caught the wooden stake that was flying at her chest right at the moment. Nice throw but kinda to the left a little and weak. Might wanna add a little spin to it and some more force, that wouldn't have made it through the ribcage she analyzed looking at him finally with a smirk and a twinkle in her eye. You must be the new Watcher she added. [/blockquote]

Holster couldn't help the wince. He was clever, he knew that, but accents? No, he didn't get them at all, and more often or not that failing made a little fool out of him. His cheeks flushed slightly, but he shrugged, a little sheepish smile to his expression. "Speak the language, can't identify the accents. It's a bit of a bummer, but oh well."
Holster tipped his head to the side, letting her speak fully before opening his own mouth to respond. "Well, good. Friendly as I may be, and as good at this councilling as I may be, I don't have time to go over every nitty picky detail with you. But, and I'm gonna say this, but you can always talk to me if things get to much and I won't judge. Don't kill me, had to say it." Well, technically he didn't. Watcher's trained their Slayer's, they didn't normally get emotionally attatched, but Holster had never read a scenario where that had worked, before. He was easy to talk to, after all, even though he was tough but fair. But she didn't know that yet.
"Why would I have thrown it to try to hurt you? Or kill you?" he asked, rather amused, "Good reflexes, good way of paying attention to surroundings. But, of course, you haven't only just started, have you? I had to see whether all the information I'd been given was correct. Otherwise there might be a few more slip ups," he grinned, sticking out his hand to her, "Yep. Holster, Watcher. And you're Elizabeth Rhoslyn Vatican (not American), pre-trained Slayer. Nice to meet you."

Eliza smiled when he admitted he couldn't identify accents. It wasn't an easy task or anything so she didn't blame him for it. It would be hard for her to identify an accent as well except for the ones that she could speak fluently which were quite a few. Don't worry I am holding it against you or anything she replied with a smile tossing the stake onto the table in front of them. Glad my new Watcher finally arrived, Naomi told me that you were on your way just wasn't sure when or where you would pop up she replied with a smile.
When he reached his hand over to shake hers she returned the curtosy and shook his hand Pleased to meet you she replied and then let go of his hand not wanting it to be awkward and long. You do have it right though, this isn't new to me. I was called after Gemma got attacked but before that was trained at a facility to be a soldier. Been fighting demons since I was about ten years old, but been doing it on my own since I was fourteen. After becoming the slayer I had some help from Logan and then from Naomi of course she answered reciting her past credentials.
You can trust that I will come to you with problems involving my slayer duties and such, personal problems will remain exactly that, personal. I don't like talking about my past very much but will if you really need to know and I don't want to talk about my feelings at all she answered. She had been there and done that with Logan and it had gone bad, that had been the first and last time she would ever reveal her feelings to anyone, or so she believed. [/blockquote]

The dark haired man laughed, tipping his head back slightly as he did so. "I should hope not. Awfully petty, holding a grudge over that sort of thing." And Holster wasn't one for pettiness. People who teased him for being young were petty, and who thought him to be his father were petty. He wasn't. He raised an eyebrow as the girl listed her history, her abridged history, and nodded curtly. "Yes. I know. Which is good. Less time training you than with other Slayers." Not that he'd ever trained another Slayer before, but he wouldn't mention that. That would spoil it if he ever needed to look like he knew what he was doing what in reality he didn't have a clue.
He nodded his head again at her words, which he couldn't help but think of as terms in his mind, waiting for her to finish before responding likewise. "Personal details can remain personal. Unless they interfeer with your job. In which case, no, they cannot, because then things will go bad, understand? Don't keep secrets when I ask directly if the situation is serious, just simply say what's needed. And I'll only ask for details if the information is required." Being trained as a councillor (sort of...) did mean that he was a good listener, but he didn't demand answers from people. People spoke to him freely, and he was sure she'd do the same if she wanted to. And if she didn't? Well, as long as lives weren't put in danger and rash descions weren't made, he didn't think that was a very important thing to get worried over.
"But other than that, you're a teenage girl. Personal problems...Honestly? I don't think I'd really want to know..." he cracked a grin, not wanting the situation to remain as serious as he previous words had been. But enough of that. He grinned, clapping his hands together. "So, come on. What do you usually do in the fight against the forces? Patrol?"

Eliza listened to him and nodded, he was quite the smart guy, trying to funny that is. He seemed to try and ease situations with humor which didn't bother her but it was interesting to observe. Yeah, it has come in handy knowing what to do and having a good background in different fighting skills she replied with a nod and glanced once more around the small room. It was plain, not much was going on. He could seriously use some decore or something to make the place seem more...what was the word? Oh yeah homey.
No problem there, as you will soon come to notice my emotions are pretty well kept to myself and rarely interfere with my job. If there comes a time when I must inform you of anything in particular I will do exactly that. I don't enjoy being recless and hate it when others are as well, it gets people killed she replied, she was serious about her job in the utmost ways. But why wouldn't she be? She had been raised and preened to do exactly this her entire life, it was merely instinctual to think like this now.
Yeah I can't imagine you would be very good with teenage girl issues she replied with a small laugh catching on that he was trying to lighten the mood. It was true that she suffered from some girl issues but they were recent and brand new to even her, she wasn't about to ask another male for help dealing with one of his own gender aka Logan. She was content to deal with the unfortunate situation on her own. I patrol almost every night unless I absolutely cannot make it out which is rarely. I am living with Naomi right now so really curfew and such doesn't matter as long as she knows I am doing my job. Other then that I just keep an ear and eye out for any suspiscious happenings and deal with them accordingly she replied uncrossing her legs and leaning forward in her seat a little. She wondered if he would change her current situation. [/blockquote]

"How many fighting skills do you know, out of curiousity?" Holster inquired, leaning abck against the desk slightly - his hands holding him up, and his head tilting to the side as he regarded the teenager in front of him. No, not a teenager. Slayer's had to grow up far too quickly for them to be regarded as teenagers for long, according to the texts.
"Well, no offense...but good. Emotions get in the way. Well, unless it's rage, i which case, it can be quite a handy thing in a fight. And no...I'm not good at teenage girl emotions. So yippee." Of course, this Slayer was different from others due to the fact that she'd been trained - Holster was unable to overlook that fact, wasn't he? There was no point dancing around a fact which could be definately used to their advantage. This town was riddled with the darkness, and a Slayer with training meant that he wouldn't have to train her...which, though good as it meant that more time could be devoted to other things, wasn't good...because he'd planned for training his Slayer. That was how it was meant to be done.
"Living with Naomi?" Don't say anything, don't say anything, don't say anything.... "That must be...enlightening." Not that Holster disliked the elder Watcher...well, not exactly. He didn't much like the nagging, or the pressure, but more of that came from his father than from Naomi. But anyway, other than that...patrolling was a good thing. "No big supernatural bad guys hovering around?"

I am highly skilled in military type combat including handling weapons, espionage, scouting missions and military martial arts. I am also trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Chin Na, multiple types of Karate and was also trained in gymnastics to help tie my skills together. I am rather good at hand to hand combat and chose it over fighting with long range weapons. I am open to learning new things as well and am a very fast learner she replied with a small smile. She had learned a lot while at SAEB and figured that was one of the good things about not having a childhood. She could defend herself a lot better than most people out there and was probably more well equipped than most slayers before her.
Don't worry I am still learning emotions as well. Being raised by a military training facility doesn't exaclty teach you how to interpret and handle emotions. Most feelings are new to me and I am just now learning what caring and love are truly. I never felt love before, not for anyone or anything because it was not something we learned. Unless the emotion was anger which made us stronger it was ignored she replied with a shrug. Emotions were a vast mess of darkness for her right now. She was slowly learning what they were and what they meant but was no where near emotionally sound.
I don't mind living with her. It is nice to have the company really even if she might not be the best candidate. She tries, but she is sort of like me. She doesn't show emotion and is tough on everyone. It is what I am most used to so maybe that is why it does not seem abnormal to me she added trying to remind Jonathon that she was not like other normal people, or girls for that matter. As of now the bad guy hovering around is a really old demon, don't really know much about her at this point though except that she can kick my ass and pretty much every other ass out there without breaking a sweat she replied.
